Hello pregos!

This long journey has come to an end for many of our wonderful mommies and I am happy to say that most were *full term* and
ALL are perfectly healthy!

Although, there are still a few of us baking our babies so feel free to check in as much or as little as you want, but FYI we do tend to send search parties when one of us goes missing for more than a day! We get a little attached around here!

Stop by and bring your friends, leave your rants, raves, wisdom, well wishes and any comments or questions you may have! We are here for you every step of this *long* journey!

Nicole - I am so glad you are seeing your dr and going to part with a piece of your mind! I tend to have a big mouth and the rotten attitude so I always tend to run the risk of saying too much! My husband lives in constant fear of what will come out of mouth next!!

Keeli - I agree with you; I NEVER show anyone my belly when I am pregnant or otherwise. But as much as I hate my stretchmarks I am proud of every one of them for what they represent.

Hope all are well...

Keeli are you back yet? You should have told me you were coming to Tenn, You're not too far from me. I wish I could sneak off to Gatlinburg for a couple of days, My B-day is next week and I will be doing NOTHING, How exciting. The past two b-days were spent in the Hospital, so I guess it could be worse.
Are any of you preggos taking Folic Acid?
My Ob said no til I explained that MOD has the folic acid campaign, and I would rather take it to be safe, even though he said it was unnecessary but I think he agrees now since I am having so many problems.
I hope everyone is doing ok.
I am just hanging out waiting til my appt on Friday.
Oh yeah did anyone rent or buy a fetal doppler? I found some that are on sale, (hospital grade) for $134.75 That is really cheap, i wanted to rent one but by them time you rent it for 3 months you spend $140.00 it's crazy. Oh well.

31.1 weeker almost 4!! 37.4 weeker!!! 4/5/07

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA for a while. Boy did I have some catching up to do. Well I'm 11 weeks and sick!! I was sick from week 7-18 with my son so I'm not hopeful about it ending any time soon. I'm way more nauseous this time. With my son it would just hit me and wham! I literally carried a ziploc bag every where I went. This time I get sick but I'm nauseous a lot. My son and I also got the stomach bug 2 weeks ago. I've never been so sick with it before. It was just over 2 days that I couldn't even hold down ice chips. My poor 3 year old had vomiting and diarrhea. It was awful!! My poor hubby I was so glad he avoided it. Anyway other than morning sickness and mysterious rash I'm doing well. We just found out my husband will be gone from week 19-21. I'm going to try really hard to talk my doctor into doing my sonogram early. Everyone cross your fingers for me I'm so afraid he'll say we can just wait until hubby comes home but I really want to know what this baby is - yes I know it's a baby but I want to know baby girl or boy. Hubby and my son want a girl. I just want a healthy baby. Glad to be back on board.

Elle-Congrats on Conner's safe arrival!! I'm so happy for you guys.

Keeli-Glad you had a good vacation. I can't believe you are getting so close.

Nicole-I'm so glad to hear baby is staying put and growing. I'm also glad to hear you've gotten a diagnosis for all the bleeding and that hopefully it won't cause a long term problem. I'll still be thinking of you.

Welcome to any newbies I missed!!

Hi Ladies!! I am approaching the 30 week mark!!! Yeah!! I have an appt this Thursday morning and I will be drinking the wonderful orange drink. Pray that my diabetes test comes back normal. I had gb with the twins.

Otherwise everything is good. The baby has become really active. I do not remeber my other kids being so active in utero. I am getting excited to find out if it is a boy or girl (pray for a girl-I am already out numbered 4 to 1).

My friend had her baby on Thursday evening. She was 1 day over due!! It was a girl and weighed 7lbs and 15 oz. Her name is Hannah Olivia and she is cute!!!

hi guys

Hi everyone.. Im slightly new here - Ive posted under other topics and started a blog last week. Im currently in the hospital on bed rest waiting for my 3rd and LAST daughter to make her entrance..Im 29wks3days, which is pretty good for me. Both my girls are preemies - they are 18months and 3(4 on the 13th). This is my 7th week here in the hospital but my stay is coming to an end. I will have a c-section at 32 weeks unless something happens between now and then. We were going to schedule it for after friday(30 wks) but my dr.'s all agree that we can get to 32 weeks. I have a placental abruption, along with battling preterm labor. Ive been on every med possible - including mag 3 separate times, but luckily ive only had to have one transfusion and in between the bleeding episodes and contractions - My only problem is boredom - well that and missing my girls. Im really glad to have found this site.

Hi Ladies,

I'm not carrying any precious cargo.. other than in my minivan these days. But I have carried in the past.. and I've done two separate pregnancies with bedrest. 2 weeks (how I wish it had been longer) with my girls (25 weekers), and then 13 weeks with my last baby, Will (36 weeker).

I'm so happy you all have one another. This support is so important in making time on bedrest just a bit easier.

I've been there. It is hard. I know how lonely, and isolating it can be. You're all doing an amazing job. Hang in there... you will get through this.. I promise!!!

I wanted to extend my email to each of you. If you need to talk, or have any questions.. I'm here to help you out. Just click on my name in Pink.. and you will find my email. I will be checking in from time to time to see how each of you are doing. If I miss anything.. PLEASE give me a shout.. You all can fill up a folder quickly!!

Take care.. and rest.. rest.. rest!!
Hugs!

New, PG, pessimistic

Hello

my name is Rebecca and I was told about this link on P2P by a M of D support worker in my area. In June I pretermed at 23wk5dy, 10 days after moving to OK with military; I did not have dr. yet. Our son lived for 7.5 days. I am now 8+ wks pgt, found out I was pgt because of heavy bleeding which turned out to be a hematoma in my uterus. We are both on needles already, and the hematoma makes it more nerve-wrecking because I am on track to get a cercalge at some point, but cannot as long as I am bleeding. Things are still fresh with the loss of our son, as this wknd we approach his original due date. We find it impossible to be excited or become emmotionally involved with this child at all. Gavin, our son, was our 3rd pregnancy. We have no living children.

I am not on bedrest but have to be careful in what I do all the same. While I dread the thought of bedrest, I sometimes wish I had more guidelines as to what I should/not do since I am not always a good judge of that.

Rebecca-Welcome!! I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Congratulations on this pregnancy. I know you may not be ready to hear that just yet. I have not experienced a loss so I will not even pretend to know how you feel or give you advice but want you to know you are welcome here and I'm so glad you found us. I am currently 11 weeks with my second pregnancy. My son (a 31 weeker) is an amazing healthy 3 year old who shows no longer term complications from his early arrival. I wish you all the best with this pregnancy. You may also want to visit the Families who have lost a child folder in this section as well. You'll find many others who have become pregnant after a loss who may be more able to help you. Again welcome to Share. I hope you find what you are looking for here.

    Welcome Rebecca

Welcome to Share and congratulations on your new baby. I am so sorry for your loss; almost 4wks ago we suffered the loss of our baby girl at 17.5wks, so I understand what you are going through...
My son was born premature almost 5yrs ago; he is now wonderfully healthy and happy (although he has an attitude to rival many 16yr old girls! )... When we found out we were pregnant this last time (yes, we were trying, but still...) I was terrified of having another preemie...
I had a cerclage done at 15wks and was put on bedrest; it didn't help to save my pregnancy but did give me peace of mind for a couple of weeks. (~I don't tell you this to scare you, but to give you some of my history~)
It is normal to feel scared, worried, guilty or even pessimistic over a new pregnancy; you have a lot to overcome. But, try not to let your feelings prevent you from glorying in the gift you have been given now. Try not to let your past experiences overshadow this new pregnancy; I know easier said than done. Also, if it gives you comfort or piece of mind to restrict your activities, then do it! At this point, you really can't do anything "wrong" so do what feels most "right"...

Good luck, and I wish you a long, boring nine months...
    Becky

  • This website also helped me through my pessimistic period, and is helping me through my time of grief. Please continue to visit as often as you wish...

    Pregnant again after preemie

I am pregnant again after a preemie. So, far everything is good. I remember this was the time last year I went preterm with Jordan at 28 weeks. Its scary to think that I am pregnant after such a short time. I am grateful though. Jordan will be 1 next month and that is a wonderful thing also. I am 19 weeks. I did have dehydration with Jordan at 19 weeks. Its amazing how time flies.

    Hi Ladies,
I'm checking in for the first time on this thread (Thanks for the push Julie!)
I'm 7 weeks along with #2 and totally freaking out about it! Alex was born at 28 weeks due to my severe (and undected) pre-e /HELLP syndrome. He had IUGR and weighed in at 1 pound 15 ounces at birth. He's now almost 2 and weighs almost 20 pounds (ongoing weight issues ).
I was nervous about checking in here since I'm so early on in the pregnancy...I don't even see the doctor for the first time until the 19th!
Any questions I should ask at that visit??????Help!!!!!

Mommy to Jaden-4, Cole and Tanner -2(identical twins-34 weekers) and baby #4??

Welcome to all the newcomers!! I hope you all get your 40 weeks!!

I had my dr.'s appt this morning. All looks good. I gained another 4 lbs!!! I think I am about up to 12 that I have gained so far. The HR was in the 150s. She also checked me to make sure I was not dialating and I was not. They will let me know today or tomorrow if I passed or failed my glucose test. I have an appt in 3 weeks for an ultrasound and then see the doc. She wants to see if my placenta has moved out of the way. I measured a little big but nothing to be concerned about because we are iffy on the conception date. She thinks I will have a baby around 37-38 weeks-I am hoping it works that way!!

I also got to tour the new LDPR rooms -I think that is what they called them. There are very nice and big!! This hospital is new so when I delivered Jaden it was in the old hospital and the twins were delivered in a different city. Actually this is the first of my kids that this dr wil get to deliver. She was on bedrest when I had Jaden and I went to a bigger hospital for the twins.

So..... Do I want to find out the sex or wait??? I am thinking wait. I have not talked to Rad yet to see what he thinks.

    Re: New, PG, pessimistic

    Rebecca,

Welcome to Share. I'm so very sorry to read about the loss of your precious son, Gavin. I can't imagine how heartbreaking this is for you.

I do understand some of your worries, but not all of them. I have not lost a child, but I did deliver twin girls at 25 weeks, and then went on to have another child after that pregnancy.

I was scared.. even though my husband and I planned the pregnancy. It was hard some days. Initially the pregnancy was going well, then at 21 weeks I began PTL. I was terrified. I felt I had asked for too much, and was now being punished.

I spent the next 13 weeks on bedrest, but after several scares.. we delivered our son Will at 36 weeks. It was hard... very hard.. but with each new day we grew more hopeful.

Try to have hope. Keep coming to Share. There are many Moms here who have had a preemie, and then gone on to have a term baby.

I wish you all the best. I look forward to your updates. Take care.

I hope I didn't forget anyone, I'm bad about that. I go to the Dr tomorrow, just for a check up, I am still bleeding and now I think I'm getting a UTI. I woke up this morning cramping so bad I couldn't stand up, I was in tears. It didn't last too long luckily, I'll ask the NP tomorrow.

    Mommy to Kadynce (38 weeks..almost 5 going on 20) Kamree (38 weeks..3 years old) and Kata (35 weeks...15 months)

Stacie~ It is an elective induction. I was induced with Kadynce bc I started dialating at 32 weeks. I got to a 4 with no signs of active labor so they decided to induce. And my BP was high. PreE never showed in my blood work until the day I was induced and they were doing my intital blood work for the hospital. Thankfully the decided to do it and I was SO tired of being prego that I was glad they did it. My labor was 8 hours and 20min of pushing! I didnt have that far to dialiate though. Anyway since I am already starting to dialate and efface she said that my cervix will more than likely be ready by then to induce...if not I have to wait but it looks pretty good.
I am glad they are doing it with this one too so that I will be able to plan what I am going to do with Kadynce and my DH can take off of work. He is one of 6 people who knows how to do what he does, it is really hard for them just to call and say that they will not be there for the next week. It is better if it can be planned! But as difficult as this pregnancy has been with the infections and taking care of Kadynce I dont think I will make it that far! I will be full term in 4 weeks so she can come anytime after that! I cant believe it is so close for both of us!

Am I next in line? I dont know if anyone is due before me!

Preemie miracle Zackary (25.4 wks) & full term miracle Tyler (36.5 wks)

Nicole, if you are looking for a fetal doppler I beseech you to get a good medical quality one from Stork Radio! You can rent or buy and if you rent it builds up as credit and will be used if you purchase one. This place also checks out with the BBB. And it also requires an ob sig. I rented one for $49 a month and it was wonderful. I actually teared up as I sent it back.
Oh, and if you think you are getting a UTI, try cranberry supplements. They're ok for pregos and help immensely. you'll pee a mil more times though.

Donna, Welcome to the thread! I am soooo thrilled for you!!!!

Keeli, I'm going to be a devil's advocate here (b/c I am adamant against induction for any reason other than emergency) and ask: are you fully aware of all the risks and possible complications? How do you think/know you won't make it far? Some of the other ladies here had bouts with infections, me included, and made it. (Early detection is key.) Would it really inconvienience you to wait and let nature take its course?

Gotta go check on the boys.

(Sorry, Kat, I have to disagree with you - ok, maybe not totally disagree b/c it is better to go naturally but I don't think it is as risky as you think it is)

Keeli - Since you have already had one induction I think you know what you are in for. As long as your cervix is ripe they usually go fine. If your cervix is not softened that is when the risk of an induction turning into a c/s is more of a concern. That being said - I say go for it! I had one with Matt and it was great to be able to schedule it! I pushed for an hour but overall it was fairly easy. So good luck!

Nicole - Hope things start going a little better for you!

Welcome to all the new Preggos! Congrats!

Mom to Destiny (37 wks), ^Jaden^ and Cadence (28 wk twins), ^Leland^(17 weeks)

Kat, the place I found is called fetalsure and they require and ob signature as well, they are just alot cheaper. I can't afford 49/ month. Especially since I'm out of work. Featlsure is like 20/month or you can buy a doppler with 3 bottles of gel and it is hospital grade for 135.00 or two payments of 68.88 which would make it close to 138 which beats the heck out of stork radio's 500. I have talked to a few preggos who recommend fetalsure, but I don't think I'm gonna waste the money since I see my OB so often anyways. They probably wouldn't sign for it. I have bad history of UTI's with Pg, they always give me antibiotics. I hate it b/c I hate to take ANY medicine while PG, I'm paranoid.
Keeli, I can't wait to see little Kamree, I think you are next in line.
