Hi ladies! Glad to see all the good news posts. I have a quick question I'll put here...
Re: Currently Creating a Miracle? Then check in here!!
The same thing happened last week to me. I put all of Marina's clothes away clean. I did not keep anything that was stained and when I opened the box. Tons of Stains. I have heard that they can appear if there was ever something on it. I love all of the pictures! Nicole you are so cute with your little belly! Well I hope you are all well. I am having knee surgery tomorrow. I am not sure how crutches and a 2 year old and a 2 month old are going to work out of me. Kathryn

Off to the doctors for a unscheduled appointment #1
Hi ladies. I don't have any knowledge on old stains, but for our new stains I use shout with the brush on the end- works well for me.
This morning I woke up to use the bathroom, and well I have some light brown spotting going on. I'm not "too" concerned but I am not taking anything lightly at this point. So I called my doctor, and to my surprise they are seeing me at 2:00 today. I thought I would just get a take it easy, or if it continues or turns red, call back. I am glad they listened to my 1 request- to be taken seriously. I feel i'm in good hands this time, which is relieving.
Off to get ready while Steven is naping. Update later.
Hope all is well with everyone.

Thank you for the advice ladies. I'm actually glad to hear it has happened to other people. I was starting to think maybe I was such a sleep deprived crazy mama that I'd packed them up that way! I was like you Kathryn I didn't pack up anything with stains or so I thought. I was just appalled when I started looking thru them. I usually managed to save my son's stuff when stains were fresh (he had reflux as well) so I'm crossing my fingers I'll be able to clean some of this as well. It'll be a while before I get them from the storage boxes for this baby but at least I'll have a plan of attack. Oh and I love the tie dye burpie idea! We used cloth diapers for burpies as well and they can get gross. Maybe I can do that to all the old ones and be able to reuse them.
Kathryn-I will be thinking of you! I seriously sprained my ankle when my son was 13 months and it was awful and he wasn't walking yet! I would take advantage of anybody who offers to help! Best wishes!!!!!

Cute u/s pics Keelie! And congrats on 34 wks!!! A great milestone.
Everything went fine at the docs. I found out the plan for the cerclage too.....my cervix is 4 cm. and at 16 wks if there's a significant change, she's going to suggest a cerclage. Everyone is against me getting it (husband, parents, SIL) and i'm undecided- we'll have to wait and see what happens at 16 wks. I didn't have Steven early because of my cervix, I had a placenta abruption......the exciting part about that u/s will be finding out the sex of the baby!!!! 5 more wks, I can't wait.
Happy Sunday everyone.

Re: Currently Creating a Miracle? Then check in here!!
I'm so jealous everyone is finding out the sex before me! My doctor won't do an u/s until 20 weeks and my husband is out of town then so I have to wait until 22 weeks - December 18th the week of Christmas. My 16 week check up is November 3rd that seems like such a long time to wait knowing they could tell me. I can go and pay for one at 16 weeks but hubby doesn't want to spend the extra money and honestly I know we shouldn't but it's so hard to wait. Everyone cross your finger baby is uncooperative at the 16 week check up and they have to look! I don't want anything to be wrong maybe it could just hide from the doppler thing. We couldn't hear the heartbeat at 12 weeks by doppler so they did and u/s just to ease my mind. Does anyone have any advice on taking your older child for the u/s? My doc will allow it I'm just not sure if my 3 year old boy will grasp the meaning and be entertained. I hope everyone is having a great weekend and baking those precious bundles! Keeli-Thanks for sharing the pics! It hit me when I realized my son was home at 34 weeks and there was your baby still inside having her picture made! Funny how all of sudden things hit you like that!

Re: Currently Creating a Miracle? Then check in here!!
Julie31~ We didn't tell our son that I was pregnant because since he came soooooooooo early, we were afraid to tell him if we lost the baby early on this time. We took him to the ultrasound (he is 6 years old) and right away he went up to the nurse and told her "We brought my mommy in to find out why she is getting so fat!". When the technician said here's the head, and here's the legs, he finally caught on and realized that there was a baby in my tummy. It was fun for him to find out this way. I don't know how well it would work for your 3-year old, but it might be fun for your son. Oh I almost forgot, someone here mentioned that they have had spotting... I hope you are doing okay! I have had spotting for the last 20 weeks, and the doctors have no explaination, maybe just old blood from the uterus expanding. Anyway, I hope you are doing well, and that's awesome that your doctor understands your concern and will see you same day.

Re: Currently Creating a Miracle? Then check in here!!
Keeli-No, no, no I didn't mean for you to think they upset me at all. I think the new 3D and 4D pictures are absolutely amazing!! It's just when I looked at them I thought "wow, it really does look like a baby" then it hit me "duh, you idiot yours was home by that point and he certainly looked like a baby!" I guess it just drove home how it really is a baby inside of us it doesn't just magically turn into baby once it hits air. It amazes me how much better the sonogram machines are just 3 years later. Even the 2D at my doctors office is so good now. I could see my little bean all stretched out and even got to see him/her wave to me at 12 weeks. I don't know how our parents did it - never getting to see us and not knowing what we were boy or girl. We were really blessed with my son. He was 4lbs. 6 oz. at birth - 31 weeks 1 day and came home at 33 weeks 3 days at 5 lbs. 3 oz. I'm still amazed they sent a 33 weeker home alone with me a first time mommy! What were they thinking!!! We were so fortunate our issues were so minimal in comparison to most - jaundice, regulating temp., suck swallow breath, reflux. Knowing how blessed we were the first time sometimes scares me more about doing this again but makes me hopeful for another great outcome. Thanks for the sonogram advice. My son knows he's getting a baby for his birthday. The baby is due exactly one week before his birthday but we haven't really explained it to him. He's been saying he wanted a baby for his birthday since a few months before he turned 3. I told him not this birthday but maybe for 4 so if this little one cooperates it will be here for his 4th birthday. I haven't explained there's a baby in my tummy because I'm not showing yet and I'm terribly morning sick so I don't want to say my tummy's upset and him associate mommy being sick with the baby. That's what I'm wondering about the 22 week sonogram. I'm worried that may be a little early to really talk to him but at this point that will be my last sonogram unless there's a problem. I thought your son's comment was hysterical! How many shades of red did you all turn!

Yes, I wasn't expecting my son to make that comment...
My husband told him that's why we were going to the doctor!

#2 due 4/25/07
Hi
I am a new poster here. My first child is almost two and was born at 33 weeks after 18 long weeks of bedrest (including 2 months in the hospital). My cervix was short at the beginning and continued to slowly shorten until I delivered.
I am now pregnant with #2 and am almost 13 weeks. I had a Shirdoklar cerclage last week, was on bedrest 4 days and now have limited activity restriction. I only had slight bleeding, which is still continuing, and some cramping but everything seemed to go well. I had to tell my job yesterday that I had to go on full disability and that was a tough day.
I would appreciate knowing anyone else's experience with an early cerclage and what your restrictions were?
Thanks Kelly

Re: #2 due 4/25/07
Hi kelly, I'm new to this site too. My first son was 30 weeks and my second pregnancy I was diag. shortened cervix ans ptl. after 14 weeks of bedrest and 1 month in hospital ( in trendelenburg- upside down) I delivered him at 35 weeks. I did not have a stictch with him b/c I was too far along when diagn. I am currently 17 weeks preg. with my 3rd. I had my cerclage at 13 wweks and like you after a few days of bedrest have done fine. So far i'm just on limited restrictions. I'm still working( part-time pedi nurse) but no more running on the treadmill anyways, I see my ob every 2 weeks for ultrasound and hb check.. I have one tomorrow. How have you been feeling otherwise? I hope maybe we can be of some support to eachother! kate

future cerclage recipient
Hi Grace
I am supposed to receive a cerclage in the near future myself. It is nice to read about someone's recent experience with one. I pretermed in June and IC is one of a few theories as to the cause of preterming, so cerclage is one of many steps to be taken. They found a hematoma in my uterus and have to wait for it to stop bleeding (which it seems to have*crossed fingers*) and/or go away, in order to sew me up. I may be knocking on your door when it gets closer to time!

Spring 2007 babies
Hi Kate, Julie
It is nice to find you and be able to share our journey until spring. It is pretty nervewrecking knowing the risks. My cerclage cramping/bleeding is almost non-existent now which is a nice relief. It is still hard to believe I won't be working though. I too have doctor appointments every other week to check cervix length and hb.
Julie - Was your 31 weeker from preterm labor?
Kate - I too was a runner. My last run before I was cut off was a nice 8 mile loop through our area - good memories. After my 18 weeks of bedrest I lost all my running shape, and it took a good year and half to build up again. It was hard work. How was your doctor appointment?
Kelly

You guys look at the pics and tell me what you see, and I will post waht the tech said tomorrow morning, (if I can wait that long). I will be 15 weeks tomorrow!!! I also have a pic that shows baby's hand and leg it's cute b/c you can see the little fingers. My next appt is Nov. 1st. i will be 16 w 6d then, and we will try to get another peek just to make sure what the sex is. I am getting so excited!! the baby's heartrate was 146BPM.

Re; spring 2007 babies
Hello!
My appt. went fine. the baby looked great and my cervix went from 3.5cm to 3.0cm in length. I know i'm still in the normal range but my last preg. it was at 18 weeks that my cervix started to change so i'm alittlle nervous. I go back in 2 weeks. I did not find out what i'm having. we want it to be a surprise. Although it get's harder not to find out with each ultrasound! Kelly, I miss running and working out in general, but as my husband kindly reminds me that this is only a very short time in my life and i will get back to it soon. I hate it when he's right! - how are you all feeling? do you know what your having? talk to you soon! kate

Nicole-I'm late finding your post but that definitely looks like a boy to me too! Congratulations! Sorry to hear you are shortening some. Crossing my fingers, legs, and toes for you. I can't believe you know! I'm still stuck with waiting until 22 weeks unless something crazy happens.
Kelly-Hi! Glad to have another Spring (fingers crossed) baby on board! Also glad to hear your bleeding is tapering off. Just a quick history on me - I was having a great pregnancy no complications had finally gotten over morning sickness and was starting to really enjoy kicks and flips when I started to bleed. I'm a gymnastics teacher and had come home from work and was just sitting around the house when I told my husband who was putting dinner in the oven that I had a tummy ache. Kind of like the beginning of a period but I didn't think anything of it until I went to the bathroom and saw the blood. I called my dr and they told me to come in. I was still bleeding heavily when they examined me but baby's heart rate was strong. I was then complaining about my back ache that I thought came from being so tense on the ride over with my husband. I was given a steroid shot for his lungs and started Mag Sulfate. I was 2cm and 80% sent by ambulance to a bigger hospital and was the same at check in there so they gave me one more steriod shot and told me labor had stopped and we'd talk in the morning. All night I tossed, turned, and drove the nurse nuts having to tee tee from all the fluids. She finally talked me into taking a shot of demerol (so I'd sleep and leave her alone). Big mistake I puked it up immediately and went into full blown labor. Even after vomiting they didn't check me until I finally looked at that nurse on my hands and knees in the bed and said look (warning TMI) if you don't let me go to the bathroom I'm going to have explosive diarrhea in this bed. She got big eyed and told me to lay down on my side keep my legs closed and yelled get a doctor. My bag was bulging. They then had the nerve to come in and tell me the doctor said don't push until he got there! The resident came in a started getting me ready and when the doctor finally got there showered and shaved I could have ripped his head off. He told the resident go ahead I'll be right back. She delivered my son and he was with the stork squad being examined before doc showed back up!! Well any way they could not find anything really wrong with me or the placenta so I'm one of the many with no idea what went wrong which is good and bad. Good in it may not happen again bad in we didn't have any warning signs and might not again. Sorry that turned into a book. I hope we all have uneventful boring long pregnacies this go round.

Re: Re; spring 2007 babies
kaycjmom~ I am right there with you! My cervix is "dynamic" according to the peri... I have been (for the past 10 weeks) from 3.5-1.9 cm up and down also with funneling off and on... I don't know if this helps you or not, but I find that the more water I drink (and the more I pee!) the longer my cervix stays. I don't know if it works for everybody, but hopefully it might help you too! In the past 2 weeks I have been from 2.1 back up to 2.5. I'm am not due until January 2007, hopefully the baby stays put until then!
I am very active too so sitting around is really hard for me too.
BTW, my friend says that I am a cheater because hubby and I found out the sex of the baby! LOL call me a cheater, I'm glad I found out. Jenn

Julie,
My first preg. ended with a 30 wk son who is now 4. Same thing with me- just full blown labor at 30 weeks with no explanation. my second son they diag. with incopetent cervix at 18 weeks and ptl at 28 & 30 weeks. after 14 weeks of bedrest ( 1 month in hospital in trendelenburg-upside down) i held out tp 35 weeks. I have a stitch this time and we're keeping our fingers crossed! I hope you continue to have a "quiet ride" kate

Just checking in...
Hi everyone... I haven't stopped in in a while and wanted to see how everyone was doing...
Welcome to all the new mommies to be! I wish you all a LONG boring 9 months. Pls keep us posted on how you are all doing...
Nicole, I am glad to hear you are still hanging in and everything is looking good...
Kelly - KLkepler - I have SOOO many questions for you regarding your Shirdoklar Cerclage. I recently lost my baby girl at 17wks; my McDonald cerclage didn't save my pregnancy. (Actually I got an infection and abruption of the placenta, but I have to blame something!). My dr has suggested a Shirdoklar cerclage IF I decide to try again. I was so excited to see it mentioned in your post; no one else has heard of it... My first questions: I was under the impression it was done BEFORE conception? Is it permenent?
I actually started a discussion under the "Not Sure where to Post" folder in this tab; if you would be so kind as to stop in and give me as many details as you feel comfortable sharing I would really appreciate it. I am having a real hard time lately w/obsessing over what to do NEXT (and I know I have much more emotional healing to do before I really try to make a decision), and I am hoping to have as much info at my disposal as possible. Thank you in advance.
Again - welcome to all the new preggos, and keep up the good work to all the old timers... I love to hear how you are all progressing...
Prayers to you all,
Becky

hey ladies, where is everyone this weekend? I hope all is well with everyone.
I have a question, I need opinions, me and DH have found a name that we absolutely LOVE, but I am nervous that the first name clashes with our last, please tell me what you guys think.
Leland Kane Lothridge
Thanks for your input.

Nicole~you know I love the first name but the middle name fits perfectly. It doesnt clash at all!!! My kids names dont flow very well but I like them anyway!
I am 35 weeks and still counting. I have been having alot of pain and pressure so I know it is getting close. Just need those 2 more weeks!!!

Nicole - I think the name sounds great! I'd go for it. It rolled of my tongue.
Kate - How interesting. I've never thought I could have IC because it wasn't diagnosed the first time. I find it interesting you got a diagnosis with the second one. I hope I can avoid bed rest. You are a very strong person to make it that long on bedrest especially having to live life basically upside down - yuck - but worth it I'm sure to get a little one here safely. Best wishes this go round!!
