The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We carry out our mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. The March of Dimes recognizes the important role that volunteers play in this mission and have now created more opportunities than ever for you to get involved in our mission.
You can continue to help us raise awareness through your involvement in our national programs such as our Every Baby Has a Story website where you can create a scrapblog that tells your personal mission story. You can join the millions of others who help our crusade by volunteering their time with March for Babies, Prematurity Awareness Day, and many other chapter events. You can also check out countless other opportunities at our newest website http://marchofdimes.com/volunteerland/ designed to provide support and direction for our volunteers.
Here in Get Involved, you will find information about volunteering, donating, how to get involved in your local community and about special events like March for Babies. There is fun stuff as well! Within this area there are also a couple of folders called "Get Local" where you can meet people from your part of the country or connect with your local March of Dimes representative. Look for your state!Also, make sure to read about our current Shining Star! This is a Share Your Story participant who has gone above and beyond in their volunteer efforts.
