Our Little Miracle Baby (Frank and Jennifer)
Frank Polk - 11:44pm Jan 20, 2005 ESTOur twin boys were born on 2-28-04 at 24 weeks. They were diagnosed with twin-to-twin transfsion syndrome. By the time the doctors caught it they said there was nothing they could do. The doctors told us that there was a five percent chance that our one son would make it and told us that if our other son made it he would have serious problems. So first came Brady Micheal the bigger of the two and he passed away during labor, then came our little miracle child, Brody Alexander. Brody weighed in at 14 oz, yes 14 oz and was 11 1/2 in long. He was the one they gave a five percent chance of living. His first obstacle was to be inhibieted. They said that is a very large task considering how small he was. He spent his first 4 months of his life in the NICU. There were ups and downs along the way. He was on a vent for 2 1/2 months. His kidneys did not start fuctioning correctly until he was 4 weeks old. Other than that no really big setbacks. Had laser surgery on one eye. He got to come home the day before Father's Day, what a wonderful Father's Day gift it was. As of today almost 11 months old Brody now weighs 14.1 lbs and is 25 1/2 in tall. His doctors tell us that there are no signs of any problems at this point, which they are amazed because of how small he was. But all head sono's and cat scans looked normal. We know that Brody made it through all of this with the help of his guardian angel "his big brother Brady". To everyone out there have faith because miracles do happen and our Little Brody is living proof!!

For Frank and Jennifer
I believe in MIRACLES!
I am sorry for the loss of Brady, but I agree with you he was definitely a guardian angel for his brother Brody. I am very happy to hear that Brody is doing so well after having such a time in the NICU. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful story and your two beautiful sons. It's nice to have a guardian angel in the family!
All the best to you and continued good health and happiness!

Thank you for sharing...
I am so sorry for the loss of your precious Brady. I have an angel too. I like to think that these special preemies who die are angels that sweep down to Earth to do some special work, and then leave blessings behind for those who loved them most...they teach us so many grown up things...and we will always have an angel walking with us after their work is complete and they physically leave us.
Thank you for sharing your story that inspires hope in the hearts of preemie parents. When people with older preemies share their stories...it lets the rest of us know how things can be....
a preemie person is one of God's masterpieces
Hugs,
Melissa
