Ahhhh! Hahahahehehehahaha!
That is SO funny! Sorry, I'm laughing because I know all about this subject! Grace got into things twice while she was supposed to be napping in my bed. I was breastfeeding Luke, and always kept a tube of Lanolin in my bedside table. She found it and was covered head to toe in it. The WHOLE nearly-full tube! She also, about a month later...(apparently I hadn't learned my lesson, and neither had she) she found a tube of Bengay and rubbed it all over herself! I found with the lanolin, the only thing that took it out was dish soap! Good luck! *snicker* Page

LOL!! ROFL!!
Jackie,
I'm only laughing so hard because I have had MORE than my share of those moments! Mom of the year over here, remember?!!! At least you got photos! GREAT!
I can't tell you how many times something like this has happened to me....we still have bubble bath in the carpet, desitin all over the windows/closet doors/stuffed lion/Ethan's crib, sharpie on the pantry walls, etc, etc, etc..........
Just laugh and enjoy the moment. It's about all you can do. Do they have Magic Eraser's for kids?
Hugs!

Jackie,
That picture was priceless. Dawn should work. We used it to get the oil off our feets from the shore in california. It works. Good luck.

Jackie,,
TOO FUNNY!! As Donna has pointed out... We've all been there!!
I got so caught up in SHARE one day, many months ago, that Will unrolled about 100 trash bags from under the kitchen sink, all over my kitchen floor!! I unfortunately didn't think to grab the camera.
I imagine in the moment you didn't feel much like laughing, but some day you will really laugh at this one!
Thanks for sharing!!

I can't wait
I'm a new Mommy and my little girl just turned 9 mts old. She's rolling all over the place now. I can't wait until I can snap those great pics. I think we who have kids are so fortunate to have these little clowns in our lives. When they do silly things it may stress us out at the time but looking back weeks, months and years later will bring joy and laughter to our hearts. By the way, what did work?

As a mommy of lots of kids, I too, have had my fair share of incidents that I didn't think were too funny at the time, but laughed my backside off about it later! Recently, my 3 and 5 year old boys decorated their bedroom dresser mirror with little Hannah's nystatin. Now get this...instead of getting mad, upset, or frustrated, I just laughed and walked out of the room. Oh well, just another mess to clean up...I'll get to it later...........
Aren't we blessed to have these moments?

Mom to Kimberly (25 wkr, 6 yrs!) & Matthew (38.5 wkr, 4 yrs!) |
|

Success!
Well, Kimmie is mostly clean although she still has a bit of that "haven't taken a shower in 3 days" look. That is still a significant improvement compared to the greased pig look she was sporting yesterday. I think one more bath tonight and she will be back to normal. (By the way, all Aquaphor is safely out of her reach at this point)
I should have taken pictures throughout the cleanup process because some of the fixes were almost as funny as the original problem!
Here is what did (or didn't) work:
1. Baby Shampoo: Thumbs down! I would have had as much luck by letting the dog lick it out of her hair. (Of course, then I would be dealing with a dog covered in Aquaphor as well!)
2. Peanut Butter: Despite claims on the internet that this works, let me tell you - it does not! I smeared it all over her head twice and all I wound up with was a ticked off kid who smelled like a jar of Jiff.
3. Cornstarch: Successful! A tip on the web told me to pat cornstarch through her hair and then wash it out with a clarifying shampoo. So after putting enough cornstarch in her hair to make her look like a gray haired lady we popped her in the tub and washed it out. Since we didn't have a "clarifying" shampoo it said to mix baking soda with baby shampoo and use that. Worked like a charm! And she even smells nice too!
I never did try the Dawn because I am too cheap to buy decent dish soap (all the dishes wind up in the dishwasher later anyway!). Not to mention I was a little concerned about all the warnings on the bottle about getting it in the eyes.
So if anyone else should run into the same predicament I did (and I hope to God you don't!), I would go straight to the cornstarch solution.
Ahh... The joys of having a toddler! I haven't gotten an "after" picture yet but I am posting one we took a couple of days ago that shows how she normally looks.
Thanks for all the advice,
Jackie

I'm sure her hair is clean as ever now being washed so many times!! Healthy & starchy to boot!! Thanks for the laugh, love the Jiff idea!!
