WalkAmerica T-shirt contest and other stuffTwinMommie05 - 11:19pm Feb 26, 2006 ESTHey this is my first year with WalkAmerica. I have a family team. We are walking for my twin girls Alexa and Jade. Alexa is still here, but Jade died after 10 days due to NEC. Anyway...I was wondering about these t-shirts and if anyone has any samples from last year it would be real helpful. Also, alot of companies I have asked to sponsor need charity letterhead requests? What is this? Anyone tried walmart for bakesale?

A "Charity Letterhead request" is simply a written request for donations or support that has the official charity Logo and letterhead on it. Many businesses need this as form of documentation for the tax write-off and for authenticty of the cause. You can ask your local chapter about helping you draft an official letter on letterhead paper.
The t-shirt for this year are very cute... the have two little feet on them - one pink, one blue - and writing in a circular pattern around it. It is on a white t-shirt.
Some Family Teams make their own shirts for their team members to wear at Walk America. If you choose to do that, it is up to you to design and make your own shirts. Some people use iron ons, some order theirs from a shop with a picture of their baby/babies... you can do it however you want.
Hope this helps!

Hello
I was looking at the website and found you on here, I have had a very similar experience as you have.
On December 20, 2005, I gave birth to twin girls, Jaydin Grace-
1 lb. 15oz and Brooklyn Mackenzie- 1lb. 13 oz. We lost Jaydin on January 21, 2006, due to NEC, they're were unfortunately no signs she was very healthy for her prematurity and was doing well and it just happened overnight, and by the time they did surgery it was too late. So, I know exactly how you feel, Brooklyn is still in the hospital right now and will hopefully be coming home in a few weeks. Our twins were 27 weekers. I thought that I would share my story with you since it was so similar and my heart and prayers go out to you. If you would like to email me back you can at Michele879@bellsouth.net

Hi Patty, Michele and Twinmommie, There is another discussion going on right now about t-shirts and some other families have posted their ideas there. I am so sad to hear about the loss that has affected each of your families. Please know that I think of families like yours at Walk, and I pray that through fundraisers like WalkAmerica we can soon have some much-needed answers to those heartbreaking questions. Please see the shirt discussion here . Sincerely,
Darcy
