Our Shining Star - Aileigh
Darcy Milder - 08:55pm Jul 26, 2007 EST
Our current 'Shining Star' is 'Aileigh' (Aimee), author of her blog, "Ryan".
Since joining Share in August 2006, Aimee has been an inspiration to many. She can always be counted on for her compassion and encouragement toward others.
Aimee is also an active member of her local MoD chapter and has recently been asked to be the Ambassador family for her upcoming WalkAmerica event in September.
Aimee held a simultaneous bake sale and car wash at her local Wal-Mart to raise donations toward her WalkAmerica Team goal. She also took the extra steps to get Wal-Mart to match all funds raised at this event!
In the course of 4 hours she and her family were able to raise $610.33 and with Wal-Mart's matching grant, this brings the grand total to $1,220.66!!
As if the money raised wasn't impressive enough, Aimee also helped spread awareness through her baked goods! She got creative and designed her cookies into the shape of Prematurity awareness ribbons. Great job, Aimee!!
Thank you for all you do. Going above and beyond in your volunteering and fundraising efforts, makes you one of Share's 'Shining Stars'.
