I bought some of the lapel pins for myself and a few family members. I hope to ware the pin everyday this month. I'm also going to do something special for the NICU staff at the hospital were my girls were born. So far that's all I got. I cannot wait to see other's responses.

We are in a tiny town, I mean tiny. (500-600 residents in the winter) I am sending the "letter to the editor" from the MOD website to our news paper.

We are also typing up flyers that tell Z's story and handing them out to local businesses with some pink and blue sprinkled home made sugar cookies. ( I am not above bribery with food to spread the word )

We are also getting our high school involved. Unfortunately, there is a pretty high rate of teen pregnancy here so I am partnering with some of the staff to raise some awareness of the stats for teen pregnancy and the risk of preterm birth. (Thanks to some of our Walk team from last year we are able to make this one happen)

I am still working on the sheriff's department. I bought all the staff ribbons to wear but I am getting a bit of push back about putting the pink on these big burly men .

We are also hoping to generate some interest in our little, tiny SLV Walk in the spring. We want more than just 40 people this spring! Wish us luck!!

 Today being the start of Prematurity Awareness Month, I did something a little bold earlier: I decided to e - mail Hillary Clinton, and asked what she would do as President to raise awareness about prematurity. No response yet, but I'm anxious to see what her answer would be.
  I'm also wearing my pink and blue band, while my husband and I tell people about our son's premature birth.
           Hope all is well here!

Go Lisa!! I'm anxious to hear what she says will be her plan!

I also wrote a letter to the editor.

Towards the end of the month we are doing a fundraiser at a local pizza joint. 10% of all sales will go to the MOD. This is our first time doing something to this degree.

Tracy~ Let us know how the pizza gig works out for ya'll! I'm sure that'll be great...at least it's spreading the word!
