Our Shining Star - Kate

DNASMOM - 01:49pm Oct 28, 2007 EST
Mom to a feeder and grower born June 2004 almost 33 wks 2lb 13 oz.

It is with great honor I announce our newest Shining Star Kate St. Clair, author of her blog, Kyle .

You may have heard the term 'Super mom' in reference to Kate on more than one occasion. There was even some speculation that she was a clone. I checked and amazingly enough there is only one of her, and one like no other! In addition to raising three beautiful children, she recently graduated from the Police Academy and now serves with some of Maine's finest.

Kate embraces the members of the Share community as if they were her own family. She is a rock for others even when faced with the uncertainty of her own son Kyle's health issues. Kate's volunteer work with the March of Dimes dates back to before she joined Share in May 2006. For the past three years Kate has served as captain of her Family Team in the Annual March for Babies( formerly called WalkAmerica) as well as sitting on the committee for her chapter's Signature Chef's Auction.

Kate recently took her volunteerism a giant step forward and served as Chairperson and Mission Family representative for this year's Signature Chef's Auction. Her husband Mark, along with two or her children, Kyle and Alex, were by her side as she captured the audience with her story. With a packed house and some big ticket items for bid (including Red Sox tickets!), it's no wonder her event was a great success raising $30,000! Great job Kate!

Kate continues to raise awareness with her plans to tape a local news segment this week. She will also be speaking at her local Borders Bookstore on National Prematurity Awareness day -November 13th.

Please join me in appreciation of one of Share’s finest!
