Our Shining Star - Stacey

DNASMOM - 01:46pm Dec 3, 2007 EST
Mom to a feeder and grower born June 2004 almost 33 wks 2lb 13 oz.

I am proud to announce our newest Shining Star Stacey (Quadmom25), author of her blog '4 Miracles'.

As the mother of four, it is no surprise that Stacey is used to quadrupling her efforts in all she does. Her volunteer work for the March of Dimes is certainly no exception to this. She is a very active member in her local chapter and has served on numerous committees over the last couple of years. She has also served her chapter as an Ambassador family for Iowa City. In addition to her own commitments to the mission, she devotes much of her time encouraging, supporting, and motivating others to get involved and is now the state's Coordinator of the Volunteer Outreach Network for the Iowa chapter. Stacey sits on the National Mission Volunteer Advisory Council and is a key player in implementing the new JOIN Campaign by initiating national standards for volunteerism in her Pilot-Project state.

This fall, Stacey was instrumental in acquiring grant funding for a NICU family support project in her state. She took the initiative to write a proposal that would allow funding for 1500 ‘Parent Packs’ to be distributed to NICU families in 5 hospitals across the state of Iowa. These Packs include information on the March of Dimes and Share your Story as well as many comfort items for these families who are going through a very traumatic time in their lives. I’m sure these families are very grateful to Stacey and all others involved in making this project a reality.

Stacey continues to be a driving force within the mission and the March of Dimes is fortunate to have such a dedicated and resourceful volunteer. Please join me in thanking Stacey for all of her efforts both past and present.
