Cerclage ????

Heylin21 - 07:07pm Feb 22, 2008 EST

Hi I'm so scare about my 5th pregnancy I'm right now in my 17 weeks after 4 losses with out reason. My doctor told me to stay at home in my bed because my cervix was 2.5 mm short so my baby in any moment can borth. This is my 5th try and is the 1st one was going well but now I don't know. My doctor told me he probably do a cerclage after this weekend if my cervix will continue getting short I'm so so scary about I really don't want loss this baby plus I need continue with my job because my fiancé does not have one. What I can do and very confuse and scare?

Re: my daughter is is 18 and prenat with twins

Hi there, I'm sure you are quite worried. I know my mom has worried each and every time I've been pregnant.

As was said before, cerclages can be quite effective. Funneling can still happen with a cerclage, but it doesn't mean that the pregnancy can't continue. I've had 2 (and on my 3rd cerclage) with 2 full term babies and I'm hoping to have one more. I've had funneling to the cerclage at one point or another with both pregnancies and my cerclage held just like it should.
Cerclages do have risks which I'm sure you know...if your daughter experiences bleeding or contractions she should contact her doctor immediately.
Bedrest can be long and boring, but I feel it can help ease the mind if nothing else. Taking it easy and not lifting is very important with a cerclage.
Keep us posted and good luck!
Kristyn
