mississa26 - 02:46am Mar 6, 2008 EST

My name is Melissa I am 24 weeks pregnant. I have been on bed rest for 16 days and counting. My water broke and I was told to go to the birthing center. Today I am being moved to a level 3 Hospital called UCONN Health Center. I have a 7 month old at home and I miss her so much. I know I should be happier then I feel however I miss my husband and my daughter I miss being able to walk. Anybody else in a similar situation

Lorne, Isaac and Sullivan - triplet boys born at 23 and 26 weeks - now 3 1/2 years old and (thanks to the March of Dimes!!!) running me ragged!

Melissa,
Hang in there. Bedrest for me was SO hard - and I didn't even have a baby at home already that I was missing! Just the physical demands and the emotional drain are enough.

Hope that bedrest is exactly what you need and you will carry much further - hang in there!!

bedrest with a 7 1/2 month old

Hi Melissa-
I am in a similar situation. I was hospitalized for premature labor on Wed for a 'dynamic cervix" it is fluctuating between 1.7mm and 2.7. (i had my son at 29 weeks and he spent 6 weeks in the NICU he is now a healthy 7 1/2 month old) I was released from the hospital yesterday and put on strict bedrest. I am almost 26 weeks along. Today is my second full day on bed rest and I am feeling guilty that I can't be there for my little boy! My husband is wonderful and has been a great help to me. I feel blessed to have him but it is still hard and I am only on day 2. It must be difficult to be away from your little one at home. While I stayed overnight I just tried to focus my thoughts on the little one I was carrying!! Hang in there!!!

Hi Melissa. I'm also in a similar situation. I was diagnosed with a subchorionic hemorrhage at 5 weeks and have been on bed rest since then. So the past 15 weeks have been filled with watching my 2 1/2 yo and 11 mo play and reach important phases in their lives without me. It's been really hard. My husband has been awesome and so have my sister and mother. Hang in there and good luck!!

Although you may be missing your little one, the thing to remember is to take care of yourself! And the soon to be arriving. 16 hopeful weeks to go and counting.
