Wanting to try again, but.......

Audrie's Mom - 12:04pm Mar 17, 2008 EST
mom to my BEAUTIFUL miracle One year old....

Hi all....I have had a previous premature birth with my daughter (28 weeks) who is now 1. My husband and I want to start trying again in the next two months. My question is, I took the DEPO shot in January and have heard several people say that you can't get pregnant for up to one year once you have taken that shot. We don't WANT to wait that long, but if we have to we will. I just want to know so I can know what to tell my Hubby. Has anyone had this shot and gone on to get pregnant before one year had passed??? I hope someone can help me....

Thanks,
  --Amie--

Amie, you should contact your OB and see what their recommendation is in your particular case.

I was on the Depo shot for more than 2 years after my first child. I got off of it and was pregnant within about 5 months... I also have heard it takes some people longer, but it clearly depends on the individual.

Best of Luck!
