My Nephews

My twin nephews turned 3 today. They were born about 12 weeks premature. They were 2 and 3 lbs. The older one, Ethan, about 3 lbs, was always strong and we knew some time in the NICU would be all he needed. My other nephew, Aydan, about 2 lb, was fighting for his life, along with being so premature, he was born with a hole in his heart. His llife, day by day, was always precarious.
I believe it is the doctors, nurses, technology and research today that allowed my family to celebrate their third birthday today.
They are so big now, completely caught up developmentally and physically.
I am greatful.
My sister in law, the mother of my nephews, and I are very close. We own a business together, Baby Be Safe. We provide CPR/First Aid training to a lot of new parents. I am always thinking how blessed we are to have 5 children (age 4 and under)between the 2 of us, and a business that teaches life saving skills to parents like us.
We hope to raise awareness and support the efforts of the March of Dimes in continuing help NICU babies and families to have the confidence in the care they receive.
