Monica's "Delivery" storykadybreena - 10:05am Mar 27, 2008 ESTFirst day of my 27th week - Friday- ready to go out of work Monday with my disability paperwork in hand for the doctor to sign. Instead, she tells me to go to the hospital to get checked out. Ok I tell her - but can you sign anyway? Called my boss on the way to the hospital - told him - should be in shortly, they just want to check me out. Get pulled over by a police officer - pregancy and going to the hospital works everytime. Pulled up at the hospital - never been there before - see a sign "Deliveries" - gotta be it, right? Turns out to be receiving department... Finally find where I need to be - well - i didnt want to think so at the time. Too early.. too early.. i keep thinking. Waiting, monitoring, nothing. They tell me I get to leave if no contractions at 1:00pm. Well, wouldn't you know it at 12:45pm - yeah - you guessed it. NICU director visits - tells me - don't worry you'll bring home babies. As much as that man turns out to be THE lifesafer - at the time I think to myself - your not gonna get my babies, they are staying right where they are inside me. He does get them that Sunday AND thank God I DO bring home babies 2 1/2 months later.

Welcome to Share and congratulations on your babies. I know when I was put on bedrest I figured I would be able to come home once my blood pressure went down, needless to say my son had other plans and was delivered three days after I was put on hospital bedrest. God has a strange way of working things out.
Thanks for sharing your story,
Kelly

Welcome to Share and congrats on the birth of your babies. It sounds like you had an awesome team working with you at the hospital. I am glad that they came home, and I hope they are doing well.
My son was born at 31 weeks, had trouble breathing, had a PDA that wouldn't close, and needed help learning how to eat. He spent 28 long days in the NICU, but now he is almost 16 months old and is doing really well. If you would like to read my blog it is titled, "Beagle Pups". God bless,
Elizabeth
