pregnant and scared!!!

NicoleD - 10:11pm Apr 4, 2008 EST
mom to Kendall(8), Keeton(6), and angels Dominic and Kaitlin. Oh and one on they way EDD 12/11/08.

We just found out a week ago that I am pregnant again. I am so scared. I cant help but every little cramp I get I think something is going wrong. I am just over 5 weeks how am I going to make it through it when I feel like this. I am going to see a specialist this time and that makes me feel a little better we also got the ok to get pregnant. This is the 5th pregnancy. 1st and 2nd were full term and no complications. but our 3rd was born at 29 weeks and he passed away 11 days later. and our 4th was born just after 18 weeks she was only with us for 10 minutes. There was no explanation for why we went into premature labor the 1st time but my water broke and they couldn't stop it. With our 4th I had started bleeding at 10 weeks and they said it was because part of the placenta was torn.
I am so scared I feel like I cant function, I know this is unhealthy to worry like this but I don't know how to stop stressing and think positively.
Anybody gone through this and have any advice how to calm my nerves?

Same here: I am 4 weeks right now and so scared. My first pregnancy ended at 23 weeks. ...

Re: Same here

I understand how you are feeling! I had a normal healthy pregnancy with my first child. My second pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. When I got pregnant again I was scared in the beginning but once I passed my first trimester I relaxed because I thought everything would be ok. I was so wrong! My daughter stopped moving at 28 weeks. She was born via emergency csection because she was dying. I decided then to have no more babies. Fate had a different plan though. I found myself pregnant again when my daughter was a year and a half. This time I had no feeling of a 'safe time'. I knew anything could go wrong at anytime and with me I had two out of three bad pregnancies. Well my doctor was very careful with me. We did experience some problems but my son was born a borderline iugr baby at 36 weeks. It was a very stressful pregnancy but I found this group of pregnant moms here and they saved my sanity. It was wonderful to know I wasn't alone. Most people in real life just don't understand how we feel. I know have three beautiful children. I wish you the best in this pregnancy.

Join us May 8 for a Mother's Day LIVE CHAT. 3pm ET, 2pm CT. Surviving 26 week triplet...2 angels, & a 36 week singleton.

After delivering 25 and 26 week triplet boys, and losing two in the NICU, we were told we couldn't get pregnant again.....so we didn't worry about it.

Just 7 months later we realized I was pregnant. Here is what I'd recommend...........see a Perinatologist (you are a prime candidate) and try to stay relaxed. I know that is hard, but worrying about every little thing can really stress you out. If you do feel something is wrong, call your doctor right away.
