Trying again with Metformin

davidswife06 - 05:18am Apr 30, 2008 EST

Has anyone been successful getting pregnant with metformin? I was on Clomid last year, got pregnant with twin boys and lost them at 23 weeks. We don't want to chance twins again (although I love the idea, my body just won't hold them). I'm very impatient and want to get pregnant fast. My bbt has been all over the place and ovulation kits aren't working (so I must not be ovulating). I'm losing hope that metformin will work.

Any stories?

Thanks!!

Metformin

Hi,

When I got pregnant the first time, I was taking Metformin for sugar control and PCOS. I noticed when I was on Metformin, I balanced out and had regular periods. I believe it helped me conceive. We had been trying for 2 years to get pregnant and after a few months on Metformin we got pregnant with twins.

I also had the twins at 23wks. My son Evan survived and is now 20 months old. My daughter Amelia went to heaven at 5 weeks old.

We just found out we are expecting again, and I'm like you, I can't hold twins. We'll see if this time its a singleton!

Best of luck!
