Baby Boy Brandon

Cyn - 04:15pm May 8, 2008 EST

My son is now 3 months short from being 2 years old. It has been a hard ride for us but fun. Brandon was born at 28 weeks gestational. He was 2lb 4oz 16 inches long.

When I first had Brandon I was so scared didn't know what to expect was I going to have a baby at home soon how long was this going to be before my son would be strong enough to play like a regular kid what was his life going to look like. I did a lot of questioning tons of questioning why? How come you have to do that what will happen in the long run? what is the good and bad about things? with all that in mind I would always look up stuff on March of Dimes to make sure they had told me correct steps to take.

Now Brandon Talks two languages (English and Spanish) we did a ton of talking to him singing reading and lots of raido NO TV the worst for a preemie. we would stretch our son out everyday just like the PT told us to. Floor time was a fun time at first he would cry after a while he would lay on his belly and reach for his toys the PT told us to get toys with lights and he began to move and sure enough he crawled fast and walking was just right behind the crawling.

I never took my son to malls or inclosed areas always outside to parks and outside activity less germs.

But now I am not sure how to take his bottle away and potty training too it seems so hard to do with him if any one knows any way to do this please let me know??

bottle

Hey! What I did was offer the sippy cup first when he was eating, then whatever he didn't drink I would put in a bottle, eventually I just offered in a sippy and didn't offer the bottle at all (except when he was sick, because I felt bad). Hope this helps!

*Proud Parents to 3 angels!!!*

Welcome to SHARE. I'm so glad to hear that Brandon is doing so well despite his pre mature birth.
As for the potty training, he will let you know when he is ready. Reading childrens books about this process is one way to introduce him to it.
Good luck!!
Colleen
