WHY THE BORDERLINE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURES....COULD IT BE DUE TO PAIN????

Jul 13, 2009 12:57pm (EST)

So I have been having mild swelling and I have been suffering from migraines and with the migraines it seem my diastolic(sp) pressure is always close to 90 or 89, and the top is around 147. My regular ob doesn't seem concerned, but I went to sioux falls to get treated for my migraine and thus my blood pressure became somewhat acceptable. But, I talked to the on call ob nurse in sioux falls and she said that she thinks that some sort of bed rest is in order if I am getting migraines with floaters and I told her that I am not taking more than what I am suppose to with the dilaudid(narc pain med). She thinks that my peri. is the one I should be listening to more than my regular ob, who is a nice lady, but she totally missed key problems in my pregnancies in the past, so I don't know what to do, but I do know I will deliever in sioux falls, instead of Brookings. So that is my random rant of sort for the day. Any input would be much apperciated.
Thanks,
Britt

AN UPDATE, SORRY IF I REPEATED ANY INFORMATION FROM A PAST POST....

Jul 08, 2009 11:38pm (EST)

So I had my last peri. appointment on July 2nd for my baby weight scan and cervical length check. My cervix is still long I think it was measuring like 3.7 cm, which is very good. And Miss Irelynn was weighing about 2 lbs and 6 oz roughly. So her growth has tappered down some, which is okay by me cause she has over 10 weeks of growing time to go. I have been having more issues with the nausea lately, but it is not everyday, but I need to avoid greasy things, which stinks cause that is what I am craving lately, like burgers, and Taco John's with nacho cheese sauce. I have been trying to cut down on my soda intake some days are better than others, I am trying to keep up on my water intake which helps keep the swelling down or even away most days. M.J has been really keeping us running literally, but that is okay he crawling like crazy and scooting around on furniture really well, and pulling himself up on anything and everything. My weight only went up a half a pound this past Tuesday at my appointment with Dr. Chamales so I am, I think, about 158 and 1 half a pound. So we are holding up pretty good around here, but I am missing Ray as I type this, Ray was my step-mother's father, he passed away on Monday. I a little sad as I am unable to attend the funeral because it is alittle to far for comfort for me and and my pregnancy. But, I typed a nice letter with memories of Ray, so it will be read at the funeral. My brother Sean and my younger sister are going to the funeral tomorrow and they took M.J. to hopefully give Ruby something to be happy to see in this difficult time for her. I thought the girls wouldn't sit still very during the funeral so they are staying home with Mark and myself. So we will try and get some quality alone time with the girls, which has been a long while. Well, I hope all that read this are doing well, and enjoying their summer.
With love and hugs,
Brittany, Mark Sr., and family

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!

Jul 03, 2009 08:05pm (EST)

So today I am officially 24 years old!!!! Yesterday had my perinatology appointment and her growth curve has gone down some, and she was an estimated at 2lbs. 6oz!!!! So the bad part of the day. Mark took me out to eat at the Olive Garden after he bought me a purse from Macy's!!!! How sweet is he? So on to the not so great part of the day. So at the olive garden they have benches for you sit on while you wait for your table. And the arms of the benches are HARD STEEL. So I was getting ready to sit down and I thinking I was going to sit on the BENCH I would full forced fall down on the bench because my feet hurt so bad from walking, but I missed and my mark and FELL FULL FORCE ON THE IRON ROD PART....OWWWWWW!!!! IT FELT AWEFUL, I I about curled up into a ball and died. It was like when you land and hit your crotch on a bike bar. So I had some contractions due to that, but I feel better today, and I will keep an eye on my discomfort. I can't believe how bad that hurt, I had to take my dilaudid to get some sleep last night, next time I am going to make sure I hit my target....LOL!!!! Happy Early 4th to you all!!!!

LONG WEEK, BUT NOT WITHOUT GOOD NEWS....:)

Jun 27, 2009 06:27pm (EST)

So today I some small amount of bleeding, I was worried but Dr. Chamales didn't seem worried. So if I have a bought this bad, I am suppose to go to Sioux Falls to be seen, per Peri, on call Dr. Macknemera(sp?). I have good news as well I am not a carrier of cystic fibrosis, there is a .3 or 3%, that i still could be though,.3% is accurate one though. And I passed my gluscose screening test, and that means no gestational diabetes. I am suffering something furious still with these damn migranes, sorry for the language, but I am so darn worn out from them. My swelling has gone DOWN in my feet, which I am so excited about, so water sometimes is the best med. out of there. I am working on not drinking pop, but this is hard thing for me because it is like the one thing that would help my migraines some, not the pop itself, but the caffiene in the soda. So I really have to try switching to tea, I think is the best bet. So far my heartburn has been really low key these past few days, so I am hoping if I do decide to drink my early grey tea, that it doesn't stir up the heartburn. I think it should be okay, cause I got tums, and they seem to work pretty well;). Jazarae's little birthday party went well. Josh, Angie, both sets of grandparents, Jeff, and of course mommy, daddy and your brother and sisters, or should I say soon to be sister Irelynn. She got The Blu ray movie 'Cars' from mommy and daddy, Money from Great grandma DeVries and Angie and Josh, P.J.'s from G&G O'Neill along with sandles, coloring books and a water coloring book that only water will 'color' the pages. So it has been an eventful week. I am going to close there, I will try and keep on updating this blog. I will be 28 weeks on Tuesday!!!!

I FEEL LIKE A COW:(....

Jun 23, 2009 01:34pm (EST)

We(Irelynn and myself) are doing great I am suppose to stop/slow the salt intake, cause I gained 16 lbs in 2 weeks, and tomorrow I have to get tested for gestational diabetes, cause that could be why I have gained so much weight. My blood pressure was borderline too, so we will be watching that as well. I think it was like 132/83. I am really going to try my best to quit eating chocolate, which I am eating like crazy, and my max. soda intake of one sugared pop a day if that, I am going to switch back to coffee and or tea for my caffeine intake. I am swelling pretty bad, which I never had in any of my other pregnancies. So here's hoping no diabetes or pre-eclampsia. I don't even want to know how much I weigh anymore, I have a history of anorexia so this is really hard on me mentally to be gaining this much damn weight, my doctor also said if I start trying to cut out my narcotic intake than that could help with the swelling/swelling with weight gain. I am almost sure that the seroquel might play a part in my weight gain as well. I gain weight with the Seroquel even when I am not pregnant. So hopefully me drinking more water, and if I am anemic, taking extra iron will help the swelling as well.

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY MY MIRACLE GIRL!!!!

Jun 22, 2009 03:40pm (EST)

So three years ago today, I had no idea my daugher was going to born to day. At about 5:45 I started hemmoraging, her placenta started shearing away, So my boyfriend rushed me to the hospital. My doctor looked at my va jay jay and said this baby is coming today. I was scared because they wouldn't tell me her heart tones, and the fact that she was was going to be born at 34 weeks. I was already on bedrest for 6 days prior for early contractions, then 3 days after that is when the chaos started again. So I got in at 10 to 6 and had her at 6:20 pm. Jazarae came out screaming and peeing everywhere!!!! I started crying cause I knew how close I was to losing her. Later on Dr. Chamales said she had never seen a placenta look as ugly as my daughter in all her 29 odd some years in practice. Jazarae also had amniotic banding while I was pregnant with her as well, and she was luck to be born with all extremities, cause alot of the time the banding the babies arms, fingers or other things get wrapped around it and then the fingers or what ever lose blood supply and die off. Her apgars were 10 and 10, and the ped, on call said he had NEVER seen a baby born that early with perfect apgars, so that is proof enough for me that GOD does perform miracles(sp). She weighed 4lbs. 13.5 oz. She had to go down to Sioux Falls to Sanford NICU because of her gesational age. She was only there for 15 days, they said she was there for growing and feeding. So here we are today celebrating a true miracle, not only for a life being born, but, being so close to not being here. So I try not to take anything for granted, So HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY MIRACLE GIRL!!!!
love,
Mommy and Daddy

ONE STEP AHEAD, TWO STEPS BACK IT SEEMS....

Jun 20, 2009 04:42pm (EST)

Just got back from the ER, my perinatologists nurse I talked to told me to go in and get my urine checked for keytones and protein. When I came in my vitals were taken and my blood pressure was 135/88, so that was really high for me. But, the good news is that I wasn't spilling protein in my urine!!!! Praise God, got a pain shot for my migraine as well, and they took my vitals again before I left and it was alot better, my blood pressure, it was 117/77 I know the top number was right, but the bottom number I forgot, but it was alot lower than when I got in. The kids are at Mark's mom's house, because they wanted me to keep my feet up and relax, so hopefully Moe(Mark's Mom) can at least be kind enough to watch the girls and maybe M.J., if not I can handle M.J. I do believe . Well, I am glad to know everything is okay. Oh, my CMV test to check if I had that infection due to worry about baby contracting came back negative, THANK YOU LORD!!!! But, it came back positive that I had it some time in my life probably when I was younger, so I am immune to it Dr. VanEerden's nurse said. He is my peri. Hope you all are enjoying the rest of the day;)!!!! Britt

SCARED AND NERVOUS....

Jun 17, 2009 05:54pm (EST)

Well, today was a long day. I had my 2 week growth and cervical length check, my cervix was still closed and Irelynn weighed in at an approximate 2.lbs 2 oz!!!! Wow, if this keeps up this will be a large baby. I am nervous because I got my blood drawn for the reasons that it looked like she had blood in her bowel or it at worse could be the sign/s of a CMV infection(of myself) she caught through me; or it could be a marker for cystic fibrosis. He said it was highly unlikely with either one since I have blood/bleeding issues in the placenta, so she probably swallowed a blood clot of mine, gross I know. I am just praying everything turns out right, and I need not to take things for granted, not that I try to intentionally, but I haven't really"bleed" in awhile so I was and still trying to enjoy what I think is a healthy pregnancy. Please keep Mark and myself and Irelynn in your prayers, as this is a scary one week wait for these test results to come in. If I do come back positive for the cystic fibrosis gene than Mark will get his blood checked for it next, and if that were God forbid positive I would have to have an amniocentesis done.

I FEEL LIKE WELL....CRAP!!!!:(

Jun 08, 2009 01:01pm (EST)

So the pregancy is getting better with each two week perinatology appointment. So far my cervix isn't funneling or opening, and the clot on the placenta seems to be getting smaller and more "stable""per" Dr. VanEerdeen. He gave me a high five, I am a dork lol. Well, on to the title. So I not only am I dealing with the stupid migraines, I now have a F-ING sinus infection!!!! I haven't had one since I think the beginning of this pregnancy. So yesterday was a crappy day I not only had a migraine, I also had the freaking sinus pressure/headache. I am so tired of being SICK AHAHAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Ah, that felt good. So yesterday went to yes, yes, the F-ING ER again, I had a small temp at 99.3F, so fluids and 3mg stadol shot again....I hate how Stadol makes me feel. They use it for labor pain relief for OB patients, and it makes you see like you are super drunk or something so all you can do to not feel and see weird is take a nap, which is hard when you have to go home to take care of kids. But, I think the Z-PAK (anti-biotic) is finally starting to work. I just hate sinus infections because of all the pressure in my face, and the nasty nasal issues....ewwwwwwww....I know, right, lol!!!! And too put the cherry on top of the ice cream 2 of the three kids have the sinus drainage:(....!! So M.J. and Jaz have my crud, but Jayden so far has escaped it, so I am debating to bring them in or not, because they(dr's), are saying to ride out most sinus infections. So this is like a rough week at my house. But, I have my Neurology consult tomorrow so I can hopefully get some answers on my migranes and possilby start beta-blockers to help prevent the migranes and start a med to help when they start. Another benefit of this appointment is to get more of a finite diagnosis on my motor-tic, I have lower and upper body movement that happen out of the blue, since I was a baby, so maybe I do have tourette's syndrome or not maybe they can put the nail on the coffin on that as well. So sorry for the long post, wish me luck and prayers on my Neurology appointment tommorrow!!!!

Britt and Miss Irelynn;)

P.S.
The picture below is something I did on adobe photoshop, I want to start getting into stuff like this for a hobby, hope you like it as much as I do!!!!

TIRED AND HAD A LONG DAY....

Jun 05, 2009 11:25pm (EST)

Well, had m y bi-weekly cervical length and baby measurments with ultrasound. Dr. VanEerden said the placenta looked better and it also looked stable HIGH FIVE THERE MAN!!!!LOL!!!! Still not bleeding. Miss Irelynn weighs roughly 1lb 9oz as of today!!!! I think she is going to be my biggest baby ever. M.J. didn't weight over a pound till about 26 weeks gestation(if my memory serves me correctly). So there are so many blessings to be thankful for that God has coming our way. I met up with my friend Sarah and her fiancee today at their house out in the country by Sioux Falls, Mark and the rest of the kids came with and we did a cook out, and had cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and fried potatoes. It was fun Sarah has a son that I met them up at the NICU when M.J. was up there as well as her son Tucker. So it was fun to watch all the kids play together especially the babies....lol:)!!!! Well, I will probably write more tomorrow it is getting late and I am getting tired. Hope all you ladies are doing well, and aren't terribly swollen, if you are swollen. I also want to thank you ladies that read and write back after I post my blogs. I appericate even if you read it. Thank you.

Britt
