NEVER TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER

Apr 12, 2009 04:48pm (EST)

My name is Shaunte'. I 25 years old pregnant with a twin boy and girl. I am at high risk for preterm birth. Just recently on April 7, 2009 I was home cooking and I began to have contractions that had pain along with them. I ended up going to the hospital to be sent home. they found nothing wrong. That weekend on Saturday my water broke. I went to labor and delivery and they told me that because I was only 20 weeks pregnant, there was nothing they could do. In 1 to 2 days I would go into labor and my babies would definately die. I did not accept that answer. I spoke with someone else and they told me I could spend a couple nights at the hospital getting antibiotics and maybe i wouldnt get an infection and it could buy the twins some time but I have to make it to 24 weeks before they are viable to live. Im on bed rest and everyday is a struggle because it can easily turn for worse. I pray and this is all new for me. I don't know of anyone who's water broke so far away from the due date and did not go into labor. Can anyone relate and give me some words of encouragement? I also am a donor to the march of dimes when I am able but I never thought I would be at risk for needing the organization so I am glad for my contributions.
