Looking forward to seeing you at Shareunion October 1-3 in Atlanta, GA!!

Kayla~ Good luck with the fireworks tonight. We're leaving for the beach tomorrow and the place that we're going does a huge fireworks display off the end of the pier on the 4th. Ansley loves fireworks and is looking forward to it! She's always loved fireworks!

Kathryn~ Your multiple posts crack me up!!! I'm sorry that work was rough last night. I'm guessing that things didn't go well with a family that you were working with. I don't have Facebook so I can't get the scoop, but just from the other posts....I'm assuming.

My mom is picking Ansley up in a few minutes to get a pedicure!! She's been begging for a while so today is the day. She's so excited and she said that her toes are going to be prettier than mine when we're at the beach. LOL!! Such an encourager!

Maria-Chris looks so cute in his tux! Thanks for sharing the pics, it sounded like the party was a blast.

Kayla-Sorry he failed the color blind test.

Kathyrn-Sorry you had a rough night.

Well Isabella is 3 yrs old!! Her birthday was Wednesday and we had a blast celebrating. Sebastian also got his first hair cut today. He looks like a different baby. I'm going to post a pic of before and after.

Donnavie~ How in the world does that little cutie pie have so much hair on his head?? I was sure that Ansley was going to school bald! She took forever to grow enough hair to have to comb.

We're back from the beach.....now there's putting away to do.... We had a good time. I'll have to get the pics downloaded and blog about it later. Don't anyone hold your breath though....you know I stink at this thing.

Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05)

Hi ladies

Back from vacation. It rained about half the time which wouldn't have been so bad but it was 50 degrees out. Good thing Abigail doesn't get cold easily. Once it hit the 60s she was in the water. We still had a good time with my parents. Should only take me 3mos to post the pictures... Tomorrow I head to work and I know what is waiting. It will be a busy week.

Maria-The pictures are beautiful. Did you find a second opinion on the lung transplant. I can't imagine what a difficult decision that would be..

See you tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing you at Shareunion October 1-3 in Atlanta, GA!!

Hey Ellen~ I'm glad you had a good time on vacation. It was cloudy as least part of every day for us as well. The last day was sunny and beautiful all day long, but even still....it was never hot. I'm glad Abigail didn't let the chilly temperatures ruin her vacation.

Girls---Don't forget about the Live Chat tomorrow at 2 p.m. EST! The topic of discussion is "GIRLS' NIGHT OUT"!! Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05)

Sorry my computers at work aren't working correctly and am scrambling to catch up from vacation. Abigail's tests were normal, did I tell you that? which is good but we still have no idea why she eats and gains no weight. We keep trying.

She is lonely and has cried the last two nights for a sibling. It breaks my heart that I cannot give her one. I just don't know what to tell her.

Well, off to bed. my week has to get better right?

Ellen

Re: Crazy with kids?? Check in here...

Ansley begs for a sibling here on earth too. I tell her that they don't sell those at Walmart. My situation is more than just physical problems, and for that....my heart breaks.

Do you work year 'round?? I know with college, there are classes offered year 'round, but I didn't know how that works... I don't know what I'd do without my 8 weeks off. Change jobs more than likely...

I hate that Abigail's tests didn't lend any answers for the non weight gain. She'll love that when she's older and she can eat anything she wants, but no gain, but for now....it's not so helpful. I hope you're able to find out what to the next step is.

    Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05)

Tracy- I am sorry you are in a similar boat. I hope everything settles down on the homefront soon.
We see the GI in another month, no more six month check ups for us.

I do work "year round". I don't teach int he summer. My dept only offers four classes but I run a research lab with three phd students and four undergraduate students so they keep me busy. There are less meetings but this is when I try to get most of my writing done, papers, grants etc. This year I am applying for tenure so it is very stressful. If I don't get it, I will be job hunting, maybe I'll go south where the weather is better? But seriously we like Pittsburgh, our doctors are great for me and Abigail (even if we don't have answers) so I am really hoping to get tenure. I feel like I am in good shape (that is what people tell me) but I am a big time worrier. We joke that it is my best skill...

So I should get back to writing my 30 page statement about how I have earned tenure but I think I will work on a paper instead.

    Have a good day.

Looking forward to seeing you at Shareunion October 1-3 in Atlanta, GA!!

Ellen~ 30 pages to prove that you're worthy of tenure?? WOW! Our state use to grant tenure after the signing of your 4th contract, but did away with it. They later reinstated a similar process, but it's not quite the same.

My friend's husband teaches at the college level and they are constantly moving from one place to the other when his grant is up. I don't know how they do it, but it depends on how long the money is there as to how long they'll be in that city.

    Hi! I'm new here . . .

This sounded like the place to check in. I am having a tough week. Does anyone have any advice for coping with post partum depression? Or do you know of any community resources I could look up? I have no med ins right now so I am kinda going it "alone".

    Thanks ladies.

Hi Gina! Welcome to Share. I honestly don't have any advice on how to get through Post-Partum depression, particularly without medical insurance, but I'm sure there are some other ladies on Share that do.

Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in soon!

We would love to hear more about you when you feel like sharing!

    Thanks,

    Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05)

    Hi Gina,

Welcome to Share. I did not have post partum but did see a therapist when Abigail was about two. All of sudden all of the prematurity issues and my own health issues became so overwhelming to me. It really helped me to put everything in perspective by talking to a neutral third party, even though I ahve a very supportive husband, I felt so guilty. I would check with your OB and the hospital where you delivered b/c they may have free/ reduced therapy for post partum or have group therapy at no cost. Some OBs will prescribe an anti-depresant w/o the therapy for a limited period of time. I know my oB's office was very worried about it as I am sure they all are so I might start there.
As Jackie said we would love to get to know you more when you are ready..

    Have a good day.

Looking forward to seeing you at Shareunion October 1-3 in Atlanta, GA!!

Hey Gina! Welcome to Share!! I agree with the other girls in that talking with a third party often helps more than you would ever believe. A pastor is often a good person to help you for a lower price if not free. Talking with your OB can also help and often times they can provide a limited supply of samples to allow for a patient if it's needed. There is nothing wrong with asking for help and acknowleging that you can't do everything alone.

I look forward to getting to know you better!

    Hi Gina,

Welcome to Share! I'm so glad you found us! I've been suffering from PPD for a long, long time. I wish I had come foward with it a long time ago, back in 2005 to be exact. I can say though that I am at the end of my rope and that now days are so much better thanks to talking with my husband because for a long time I went at it alone like you mentioned. I'm with Tracy, asking for help is not wrong at all, in fact knowing that you have a problem is a huge step. Talk to people around you, let them know how you feel, what you think, cry when you need to cry, letting it all out helps a lot too, just please don't do it by yourself, talking to your OB is a great plan also. I hope you find the help you need, I know Share has been a very important part in my recovery and I hope it helps you too.

Sorry I've been MIA ladies. I've had the roughest week of my life. Today though it all ended when I found out that Chris does not need a lung transplant, we switched specialist because the other one was just going to extremes, he is now on meds, steroids, etc, and we are very optimistic that he will get better. Don't want to put my business out there but last Friday I went through hell and ever since then I've been so sick, can't hold down food or water, on meds, and just feeling crappy. I don't mind sharing my story, just email me if you would like to know, hint, I would like some advice on what to do if any of yall have been there.

    Maria

Maria~ Hey girlie!! I'm glad to see you and super happy to hear that the new dr. doesn't think that Chris will be needing the transplant after all! I know that's a load off of your shoulders!!

I hope that the rest of life is okay. Email me the details when you get the chance.

Ya'll---I'm so nervous for Ansley right now! She's spending the night with a friend tonight for the first time. She's spent the night with my parents many times, but not with someone not related to us. I've been playing it up to be the most fun ever, but I'm nervous for her!! I want her to try fun things through her life and not be a "chicken" like I was..... Keep your fingers crossed that she'll have a great time!

Thanks, thats a huge relief for all of us, thinking about the transplant had me not eating at all! I was just so darn scared and worried. I emailed you the 411, let me know if you get it.

I got the email....wow! I emailed you back.

Apparently Ansley is having a great time! It's almost 11 a.m. and I haven't heard from her since 10:30 last night when she called to tell me that she wasn't going to bed, but she wanted to tell me goodnight! They said that they were going to do some fun things today and they'd call me when it was time to pick her up....

I have been so lazy lately, summer makes me want to sleep in and lounge at the pool!

    Hi Ladies

Maria that is great news about Chris. what a relief. I hope everything else is ok with you.

Tracy- I am glad that Ansley had such a good time. I fear our first sleep ove b/c Abigail is a afraid of many things, although friends are not one of them. I was afraid of many things and I just want her not to be the odd-man out so to speak.

Being lazy sounds nice. I alternate motivated with unmotivated, I would just like to settle in on a nice even keel instead of up and down.
Oh well. Tomorrow is a new work week. I hoping for a good start this time.

Ellen~ Ansley's just a quirky kid. I think some of it is because we had to "guard" her through the early years and didn't allow her to just explore and be around other people very much for her health. Now she's very outgoing in a lot of ways, but very reliant on me for support in a lot of other ways.

She's getting to spend the afternoon with my mom today---her favorite thing!---while I go to visit with some college friends. I haven't seen one of these girls in a few years, but when we get together it's like we've never been apart. I swear she's like my twin and we often say the same things at the same time. I'm looking forward to some good laughs today!

    Hey Guys!!!!!!!

    Im playing catch up again...lol

Tracy ~ How exciting for Ansley to have had her first sleepover!!!!

Maria ~ Im so glad that Chris wont need the transplant! Its a very scary thing/process and im relieved that you (and him of course) wont have to go down that road. I hope all is well with you!!!! Thinking of you!!!

Katie ~ Im so with you on that. I wish I were at the pool right now instead of at work!!!!!

Things at the homefront are good. Bella hasnt had to go to the ER in a few months - so we are crossing our fingers and hoping we will make it through the rest of the summer with NO hospital trips! Oliviah is excited about starting 1st grade and is talking about it non-stop. I cant wait either because I wont have to pay for summer camp anymore! hahaha Ava is excited about school starting as well and is getting so darn tall its crazy...She's like a mini oliviah.
Im still working lol but am looking forward to being able to quit and stay home with the girls and home schooling bella....Its the only thing that gets me through each day at this job! I have to work another 4 months and im actually looking for another job for the next 4 months....This one STINKS big time.

anyway, Id better go before I get "in trouble". I have loads to do!

I try to get on more but am working until 9pm and then still have to deal with the girls (whose father apparently doesnt know how to put them to bed before I get home ) and get things ready for the next day...by the time I get done, I am too exhausted to do anything else!!!!

    Miss you all
