hydracephalus

meggs2003 - 01:04pm Jun 17, 2009 EST

My son was born at 30 weeks 4 days. He was diagnosed with a grade II-III IVH with hyrdacephalus, about a week ago. They have been watching him closely, and decided to place a reserviour in tomorrow. I have been reading info. and just would like to hear other peoples stories on their hydracephalus babies!

RE: hydracephalus

Hello meggs2003 and congratulations on the birth of your son.
When my little preemie boy was born at 23weeks, he had a grade III & IV got better on their own.
Two very good friends of ours had twins, one of which needed a shunt put in, this was about a year ago.

I'm very happy to report that the boy is doing great, aside from some motor delays "which are getting much better" with therapy, he is doing WONDERFULLY, and doing everything he should:)

Hang in there and I'm sure things will turn out for the better.
Do keep us posted on the lil guys progress.

26 weeks preemie

I'm sorry to hear about your son. I hope he is doing better. My son was also diagnosed with Hydracephalus within two weeks of him being born . He currently has a reserviour in place. They havent had to tap into it since it was place and thank god xrays are showing that it has resolved itself. Sp now they are planning to remove it before he discharged from the hospital. I wish you the best of luck and hope everything turns out okay. I just know alot of prayer help us.
