New Mother-to-be

KJ's Mommy - 01:53pm Jun 24, 2009 EST
Proud to be a 1st time Mommy

I am 31 years-old first time pregnant, and thought I would never have kids. But by the grace of GOD I am 20 weeks pregnant and just had a cerclage 1 week ago and now I have been bed-ritten. I am new to this whole siuation and need some support. I am new to the city I live in b/c my fiance is in the Air Force. I am worried all the time that I will someday soon go into labor. I am just worried--need a little support.

Stacey

I am in the same boat. I have been on bedrest (in a hospital bed at home) since my cerclage was placed at approx 21 weeks I am now 31 weeks and 4 days. I have contractions on and off but I am on brethine every 4 hours to keep them under control. I also see my OB every week. Its very difficult to be in bed so long but you can do it. I have good and bad days. I spent last night crying for almost an hour because I didn't think I could keep going this way but of all things to happen I saw a rainbow in the sky. I believe that it was a sign from God that I can do this!

I get really nervous with every braxton hicks contraction and sometimes I feel pinching when the baby pushes down on my cervix and I panic but the doctor says a little is ok.

You will do great! It seems like forever but in the grand scheme of it all its only a small window.

Welcome to Share, Stacey and a huge congratulations on the pregnancy! I cannot fathom how how it must be to go through pregnancy while your fiance is away, but keep your chin up... you'll find plenty of support on Share! Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Love, Kelly
