Cadence

Hi my name is Amber and my daughters name is Cadence Brianne she was born at 25 weeks gestation. I had preeclampsia and my blood pressure caused me to have to deliver early. On Nov. 22, 2008 Cadence was born Via C- Section. Cadence had fight right from the get go, She weighed 1lb 7oz and she was 12 and half inches long. She actually screamed and the doctors and nurses were not really rushing around to get her to the NICU. It was 4 months and 1 week that she was in the NICU. She had several surgeries, A PDA ligation at 2 weeks old, and was very sedated for several days afterwards. She had 2 laser eye surgeries and 2 vitrectomys where they actually go into the eye and remove scar tissue. She had to be transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Michigan for the vitrectomy surgeries and was in their NICU for 3 weeks. She was then transferred back to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. We brought our little girl home on march 24th 2009. She had to go home on oxygen and was on that for several weeks and is now off that. She is doing great and is now 9lbs 3 oz and 21.5 inches long.
We are truly blessed to have such a living breathing miracle in our midst. We love her so much. She is named after her Uncle Brian who passed away 8 years ago April.
