Terbutaline vs preterm labor.......side effects

Susan05 - 02:03pm Sep 3, 2009 EST

Hi,

I'm the mom of a beautiful 6 year old boy named Connor. He has suffered bowel issues since 18 months old, and I've recently noticed odd limb behavior. He's also had very busy legs when he sleeps. I have also notice behavior changes. I've been surfing the web for information regarding his most recent "habit". He walks and runs with his left arm raised as though he was signaling to make a right turn. I've notice this in the last couple of months. While on the web, I've come across many articles, but the use of terbutaline during pregnancy to avoid preterm delivery has caught my eye. I was given terbutaline by IV at approx 22 wks, and took oral (pills) everyday until my 36th week. My son was born at 36 weeks.

My recent finds on the internet have me asking questions regarding thing I've just chalked off to "normal issues".
If anyone has information on the raised left arm, please share.
Our Ped has schedule an brain cat scan, and an EEG.

Concerned Mom,

Sue

Concerned

What pills were you using? I have been taking nifedipine since 26 weeks. I am now at 35 weeks. I am now concerned about possible side effects after reading your post.
