pacenta previa, possile percreta

lostmybaby080306 - 12:47pm Oct 22, 2009 EST

hello i was looking for info on percreta when i found this site. im currently 28 weeks and am already termed as a high risk pregnancy due to a previous placental abruption in which my daughter was stillborn on 08/03/2006. after going thru the emtional turmoil of that about 3 years later i found myself pg again only this time it was an ectopic so i got the shot of methotrexate and went on about my life. shortly after my livingsdaughters 5th bday i found myself pg again and was immediately put on bed rest (real fun). everything was going good as i had gone off of the meds i take for my pseudotumor cerbri and pappladema until about 20 weeks whn they found venous lakes and possible previa on my u/s. well eventually the previa was confirmed as i get an u/s every 2 weeks. when i went in 2weeks ago they found what they thought might be accreta and immediately orfered a mri. i get the results of how bad the accreta is tomorrow. today whn i went to doc for u/s they found that i do have accreta and the placenta is going into my uterus. i now have to travel 4 hours to have my son and the doc tells me theyre going to deliver a month early so that theycan cut the risk of me going preterm. im already lookin at a hysterectomy which i am ok with i guess. but now the doc tells me that i can either have part of my bladder removed or spend up to 6 weeks in the hospital after birth and recieve the shots of methotrexate to shrink the placenta. however the hospital is where this will be done is 4hours away from my home and daughter. i would really like some advice as to what option i should go with or if anyone has personal expirience that would be helpful. i apologize for this being so long

Welcome to Share. I have had no experience with this, but I do know that there are many women on here that have. You might want to head on over to the Parent to Parent section, there is a pregnancy thread, you should find some people over there. Good luck!

me too

Hi I had placenta previa and percreta with bladder invasion. I had my baby last month at 36 weeks and 5 days. For me they did a classical c section to avoid the placenta to avoid heavy bleeding. They left the placenta in so no hysterectomy. Straight after the c/s they did uterine artery embolization, which is a treatment normally for fibroids. I left the hospital after 6 days and so far the placenta hasn't come out.
