Please anyone help!!!!!!........

Hopeful12009 - 08:04pm Oct 25, 2009 EST

Is there anyone on here that has had a stillbirth followed by preterm labor from Incompetent Cervix? I had my daughter last year and she was sadly stillborn. I had every test known to man kind and they found nothing. I got pregnant again and I went into early labor at 18 weeks from what they now was an incompetent cervix. Doctors and peris tell me I just have the incompetent cervix and my chances of having a successful pregnancy in the future are good. However I am very very nervous. My husband and I plan to start trying in November, but I just need to hear some successful stories after two losses. Is there anyone in the same situation or a similar one? Thank you for taking the time to read.

Two losses in 8 months: I have just lost my second baby, a little girl at just 21 weeks pregnant....

Re: Two losses in 8 months

I am so sorry for the losses of your precious son and daughter.

I am the person Jackie was speaking of...I had a preemie (almost 32 weeker) and it was deemed unkown or possible infection. When we got pregnant with number two I was told I would be treated as a normal pregnancy. I was very achy from the beginning (which is normal), but it never went away. By 12 weeks I had spotting and a lot of mucous, which I was told was just fine. By 14 weeks the spotting had become red and I knew soemthing was wrong. My OB ordered an u/s for the next morning and we found I was funneling. I was scheduled for a cerclage that afternoon (I was about a cm dilated). I was petrified and had only found stories of more loss on the internet. I got the cerclage and remained on bedrest for 6 months. That is how I found Share and I found many friends that were facing the same situations I was. It was cathardic and fun at the same time to be here. My cerclage was removed at 37 weeks 5 days and my son was born the next day. For my third pregnancy I had a cerclage at 13 weeks and never went on bedrest. I had some problems with contractions around 33 weeks. I had my cerclage removed a bit early because I had so many contractions. She still stayed put for a whole week! I will be getting my cerclage in a week and a half...I am still nervous, but I trust it will work again. The procedure is a risk and my OB always prescribes me an antibiotic just due to the fact that we truly don't know what caused my preemie birth. I am on bedrest for 24 to 48 hours after depending on how I feel and then I'm on normal activities. This isn't really normal...I take it very easy. I sit while cooking and folding laundry. I don't take my other kids to the store unless I HAVE TO...there is no guarantee, but I know many woman that have had success with it.
I hope this helps...and I wish you the best.
Kristyn

Hi Kristyn

Thank you so much for replying to my message and for reading my story. You do give me hope and I truly hope your stitch goes well this time. My husband and I are hoping to start trying in either January or February next year to give my body a rest. I am quite a complicated person as I have had a kidney transplant and I am a diabetic too which makes me a high risk patient. My husband and I are truly hopeful next year will be a better one and I hope that when we see our Consultants next week they will be very positive and can offer the clertage for me.

I hope you get on alright and I will keep my fingers crossed for you too.

Regards
Becki
