Lovenox Ladies

Hunter'smyAngel - 02:46pm Nov 19, 2009 EST

Hello, I lost my first child when I developed Eclampsia when I was 30 weeks pregnant and they had to take my son. He spent 2 weeks in the NICU at Georgetown hospital center in Washington DC. He developed NEC and passed away shortly after. I have never fully recovered. And now after 3 years of endless testing my husband and I have decided to try again. Since I had the eclampsia and everything possible that came with it, I have to start Lovenox and clomid to even try to get pregnant. I was wondering if anyone else has had to do the same thing, and if so did you have any side effects. I'm worried about miscarrying. I've research clomid and it could cause thinning of you lining and with the lovenox I'm afraid it might make it worse. So if you have had any success please let me know.

Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer! I am so sorry about the loss of your baby boy. I too lost my baby boy Eli to NEC on sept 28th. He was born at 26 weeks and 2 days. He developed NEC when he was 6 weeks old and fought for 2 weeks, He was 8 weeks when we lost him. It is something that I feel like I will never recover from. I am so happy that you and your hubby are trying again. I wish you all the best of luck and hope things are very very different for you this time! Lots of prayers and thoughts your way....Jennifer

I took lovenox right before and after my daughter was born but have not tried to get pregnant again. My understanding is that it has "few" side effects but I would express your concerns to your doctors so that you feel completely comfortable with your treatment plan.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Welcome to Share. I am so sorry for your loss. I also took Lovenox. I never noticed any side effects from it, apart from the bruising on my stomach from the injection sites. I never took clomid, so I don't have any first hand knowledge there. I agree with Ellen, talk to your doctor, get all your questions answered. I wish you much luck.

Thank you everyone. I'm feeling confident that this time things will be different. Even though my Hunter will never be replaced, I feel that my heart will heel a little better with a little in my arms. I'm so sorry as well for the loss you have experienced. No one should ever have to be in a situation like I experienced and others as well. I hope you take life one day at a time. I'll be sure to talk to my Doctor about my concerns. I was just so happy that he was going to start me on the clomid I forgot to ask about side effect combined with the lovenox. I'll keep everyone updated and see how long it takes me to conceive. Wish me luck!
