Scared

Hopeful Mommy - 09:51am Feb 24, 2010 EST

I have two doctor's appointment today. I went to the first one and the sonographer said that my cervix shortened to 2.2 cms and that the funneling has not increased. I am sooooo terrified. I have not done anything. I've been on bed rest, have a cerclage, and 17p shots. I'm only 16 weeks. All I can do is pray. Just had to vent.

Update: Ok, sooooo, my cervix shortened again. I am now 19 weeks. The stitch is doing it's job and staying...

Re: Update

I can understand your anger... it sucks to know that things aren't going your way. But I will keep my fingers crossed that the stitch does what it is supposed to do!

Hugs,
Jackie

I'm 20 weeks

Although last week was a tough appointment, today marked a milestone. I've never made it this far. At my appointment there was no change and the stitch is holding firm. Small but monumental steps.

    Scared :(

So I went to the doctor and my cervix is less than 1cm with the stitch. I am 23 weeks. The doctor said that I might be admitted to the hospital next week. They also said that they will start me on steroids as well.

I'm sorry to hear that but do know that there have been women in your position who have still gone on to carry their baby for quite a few more weeks.

    Don't give up hope yet!

I'm sorry that you are down to 1 cm but you have come so far on hope so please don't give up yet. The steroids are good for the lungs and hopefully you won't need them for awhile.

Good luck and keep us posted.

That stinks! I'm sorry that is happening with your pregnancy. I am sure you are very worried and know we are here for you. I am hoping Julie will pop on here soon...she was down to .5 and has made it a number of weeks. I know of other women that have had this as well...so, keep your head up and come here any time you need to vent! Good luck and know we are all crossing our fingers for you and your little one

    Six Months Update

Well...today I am officially six months. They have started me on steroid shots. I had a shorter cervical length last week but this week it looked better so they sent me home. They would rather me be home anyway.
