proud to be the mom of this little fighter

Hi girlies, new Q & A in the community center. Come check it out and get to know your fellow Share mom a bit better.

stacyat - Mar 16, 2010 11:40 pm (#276 Total: 486)

Lorena: I work at a hospital off base! The one on base doesn't have a pediatrics unit. Oh how cute with your daughters crab walk!

Donna: You gonna post finished pictures? I love moving furniture around! But my furniture only fits in our living room one way, stupid crazy room sizes on base housing. LOL! Yeah, I lived here only a month before I got new drapes! Guess us military wives gotta get on that quick though since we move every few years!

Lauren: You gotta keep your camera ready at all times! Can't wait to see that little man's cute smile! You get a nap in?

Sarah: Ugh! I hate it when docs do that! I couldn't even get my doc to attempt to look even though he was right there, he made me wait three weeks! Nice reframe though!

Tracy: For sure! I think I only own like three pairs of closed toed shoes, so I'm definitely going to have to bring them, October will already be cold, so no flip flops!!

1. 1. March 17 yes, but wrong Lauren! Today! Haha!! I've got green on

Ooh, I'll go check it out!

Today was better! I did have to jump out of the way to avoid getting pooped on by the kid, but reframe, no major issues and she got transferred to the regular floor, yay for kids getting better! My problem was solved.....kind of.

Keep my coworker Scotty in your thoughts! He was having back pain last week, come to find out this week he's got a lung abscess that was causing it and just got transferred to the ICU and is being put on a ventilator to prevent him from crashing.

What should I have for dinner tonight? Hmm.....days like today I wish we were all in the time zone so I could get some input, lol!

KHolley - Mar 17, 2010 5:18 am (#277 Total: 486)

Mary-I am going to have to look up those answers, I'll get back to ya!

Tracy-Any plans for the 4th of July? We are going to be at Stone Mountain!

Lauren-You make me miss those baby days!

Laura-You are doing so awesome! Keep baking!

I am so sore today! I took a kickboxing class last night, I think the kids might be on their own today for class, they might have to wheel me around in my chair all day!!!

Katie

Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05)

Lauren-So glad Micah smiled already.

Stacy-Glad you had a good day today and will keep your coworker in my thoughts.

Forgot to wear green or send my child in green today. Who is a terrible mother?

Arnara - Mar 17, 2010 7:22 am (#279 Total: 486)

Stacy-Well I asked you since nurses from other country would not be aloud to work at hospitals in my country, so Guam most have excellent hospitals there, what language do they speak there in Guam?

Jessica~ here are my answers:
1. March 17th, which is today so happy St. Patricks day!
2. Ireland
3. He drove out snakes
4. When you kiss this blue stone of a castle you get the gift of gab (which means great eloquence or flattery) Which I would definitly need today for a final test I have that need that i write about themes they put in, 5 themes so wish me luck!
5. is in irish and means Ireland until eternity.
6. the day of his birth

Sorry i cheat on #4 and #5 (I google the answers, I have never heard that expressions in my life, every day you learn something new)

Lauren~Yes so nice to "see" you again, but don´t think I have been far away (well actually I am) but beeing lurking around and following your blog and stacy's and have seen you have met recently. I would definitly love smile pic of Micah.

Well off I go to study.

Lorena

Oh darn it....I forget how to get another color on my font. AAAHHH!!!

Thanks for the drink Lauren. I definitely need it today. Good luck with your video! I want to re-do Ryley's, but can't seem to find the time to scan/transfer all the pictures to the new computer, put in the videos from his early days, etc much less put it together. Sigh....I'm sure your fundraising will go just fine!

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

Phew! We're rockin' it today. Up before 8am, actually brushed teeth, showered, ate breakfast, finished video, got awesome Beco Baby Carrier in mail and figured it out so I can "wear" Micah everywhere... it's sooooooo cute! Lovin' it.

Now I just gotta send out an email with the video and I'll chalk this up to an uber productive day!!

Here is our video.. Our Video

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Dang Lauren, that's seriously productive!!! You go!

stacyat - Mar 17, 2010 4:20 pm (#288 Total: 486)

Katie: Wow, kickboxing? Go you!! I'm heading to the gym today too.....for a massage!

Lorena: Actually it's not a great hospital! They are getting better though, they're trying to get accredited. I have all my friends telling me I shouldn't be working there, but if I don't work there I can't really work anywhere! Mostly they speak english, but the other official language is Chamorro which is similar to spanish, but most everyone except a very few on the south side all speak english also.

Kate: Hi!! Might take you a bit, we're awful chatty lately!!

Donna: Sending you a midori sour, my favorite!!

Lauren: Wow, that is an uber productive day! Loved your video, made me tear up, sweet little Akeelah, maybe I'll make one next year if I can figure out how.

I ended up having chicken in baja chipolte sauce on the grill, plus grilled zucchini, corn on the cob and grilled pineapple for dessert! Yummy! Go ahead, be jealous . Today I've got my doc appointment for my heart rate, and my massage! Should've flipped them around and my heartrate would be lower for my doc appointment, lol!!

stacyat - Mar 17, 2010 6:10 pm (#289 Total: 486)

So back from the doc. He's diagnosed me with white coat syndrome. In other words, I get nervous going into the doctor and my heartrate skyrockets! They hooked me up to the pulse ox, my heart rate was 84-88 while he was out of the room, he walked in and about ten seconds later it had jumped to 115 . He did an EKG to double check and it was normal!

Oh, and my stomach? Yeah, incompetence! They said my culture came back positive, thus the nasty water diluted IV medicine I had to take for the past two weeks. It was NEGATIVE! They looked at the previous culture, not the most recent one! So I didn't need to be on the meds for the past two weeks, lol!

Oh Guam, how I love you!

makcalla - Mar 17, 2010 7:37 pm (#290 Total: 486)

Mom to an angel (22 weeker) and a miracle (27 weeker now 4-years-old).

Lorena~ Great job on the quiz! You only missed two....

2. St. Patrick was Welsh.
6. St. Patrick's Day celebrates the death of St. Patrick on March 17, 461 AD.

Lauren~ You put me to shame. Go you with your uber-productiveness!

Donna~ There are also the handy little colored "A"'s just below the comment box. Very handy!

Off to bed for me. Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Hah! Found it!!!!

But that little tiny box is annoying to type in. LOL!

Thanks for the midori sour Stacy! That used to be one of my favorites way back.

Sounds like wonderful medicine they have going on there in Guam. UGH!!! Glad they got it all figured out for ya though.

Oh and thanks for making my mouth completely water (right up until the pineapple part) even though I just ate dinner. Yours sounds AMAZING.

Ryley pitched in their game tonight. Makes me so totally nervous. I can't do it for him. I can't help him at all. He walked about five batters, but he did go deep in the count (2 strikes, three balls) on a few of them, struck one out, and his defense got another out for him.

Go Wales!! I'm a wee bit Welsh and a little bit more Irish.

    Re: Lucky Lady Café

    No problem!

Yeah, um, sad thing is that military medical care is better than off base care!

Ha! forgot there were fruit haters here! I used to hate pineapple till I had it grilled! Dinner was really good last night too! We had to go really quick on the grill though.....it started pouring, storms are coming through, hope none of them turn into typhoons!! Messed up my diving plans tomorrow too, oh well!

Awesome on Ryley!! He'll get better at it, sounds like he did a pretty good job though as it was! That's great!!

Yuck on the rain!! We're having beautiful weather this week, finally. Shorts and flip flops, Yay! The kids even asked for a beach trip their first week of Spring Break (week after next). I have to survive Ethan's birthday and party first.

    Arnara - Mar 17, 2010 8:26 pm (#294 Total: 486)

Lauren~Well done! Nice that Micah liked this thing, it is like a body carrier right? I bought one for Ana Valentina, in internet, and she didn´t like it at all so used twice I think and gave up with it.

Stacy~I have never heard of that syndrome! Now thinking about it how you manage to work with white coat drs? Well I don´t know about Guam hospitals but here are terrible. Sounds like a great dinner I love spicy food, and any kind of fruit.

Jessica~Thanks for correcting me so now I know 4 new things about St PAtrick.

Well my test was piece of cake, you wouldn´t beleive my luck, I say teacher spoke so much about this so surely he would asked this and I study only that material, even I got to univ early to study little bit more, and there were other classmates and were studying other things and asked me what I thought he would ask? and I say my 5 questions I tought were most probably, and they said no no way, and you know what? I got 4 of 5 it felt so good, like if I knew the answers before hand. When I stood up to leave I looked at them and just smile, like saying I told you so..... Probably they must think i had a copy of the test before hand.

So I go to bed, I surely should be finishing my essay for tomorrow, but I think I need my bed, beside I have a busy day. (Did I mention I made a queu for almost an hour for reading books for my son at school, at the end I got desperated and asked were else can I buy them, and leave, how desorganized ).

    Night night

Lauren-Your video was wonderful, it made me cry. I know it will work.

We are going to our family teams kick off this weekend. This year the pirates have kicked in. I would like to be more involved in our local chapter but they seem to have plenty of volunteers and work always seems to be in the way. I have to stop making excuses.

This week has been long and not very productive or good. I can't wait for next week. Maybe the midori sour would help. Send one back east.
Hopefully my Blue Devils will play well this weekend and improve the week.
    Have a good thursday

    stacyat - Mar 18, 2010 12:18 pm (#296 Total: 486)

Lorena: Congratulations on your test, I'm so glad to hear you did well!

Ellen: Sending a midori sour your way too! Hope you week gets better!

Food poisoning gets a big thumbs down in my book! Finally get the all clear from the doc and I end up with food poisoning. That wonderful massage just got ruined after all that, ugh!

    Donna S - Mar 18, 2010 12:41 pm (#297 Total: 486)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Stacy - Really? YUCK!! Food poisoning bites. Hope you recover quickly!

Lorena - Congrats on the test! Yippeeeee!!!

Oh Ellen - Hope your week gets better. Friday can still salvage it, right?

Why is it the more I do, the more I have to do? I can't seem to catch up these days. My house is tore up right now. No matter how much I pick up, sweep, vacuum, clean it's still a pit. SAVE ME!

    Angel Love - Mar 18, 2010 1:42 pm (#298 Total: 486)

Donna~ If you find the answer to the more I do the more there is to do thing then please let me know! Hope you're feeling better today. I have cranky days myself.

Katie~ I love kickboxing (haven't done it in forever)!! It was my favorite back when I could pick my legs up....

    That quiz was hard!!!

Stacy~ I was going to tell you how yummy your meal sounded, but now that you're not feeling well, I don't know that I think that. I did think of you yesterday while I was filling out financial aid paperwork. It asked what state I lived in and when I clicked the pulldown menu---there was Guam!! I thought of you saying that nobody understands that it's US territory.

Kate~ HEY!!! We miss you too!!!

I've not had a nap at all this week and I'm long overdue! Be back later!!

    Donna S - Mar 18, 2010 2:22 pm (#299 Total: 486)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

I am feeling better today, Tracy. Thanks......it's just been one of *those* weeks where every little thing is completely overwhelming. Michael being a total moron three days running didn't help at all either.

    Enjoy your nap!

    stacyat - Mar 18, 2010 2:22 pm (#300 Total: 486)

Donna: Thanks! Got a doc appointment in a few hours to see if I can get some antinausea meds so I can at least drink some water. Like Tracy said, if you find the answer let me know too!!

Tracy: Haha! No, it was from dinner last night I think, not from the night before. We had mexican chicken corn chowder, and I used one of thosre rotisserie chickens, I think it was that, though hubby didn't get sick but I've got nothing if it wasn't that! Woohoo! We made it on the map somewhere! Now if only I can figure out WHERE I need to file my taxes and how to do it for Guam. Hope you get a good nap in!

    Donna S - Mar 18, 2010 2:28 pm (#301 Total: 486)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Good luck Stacy. Michael and I both got food poisoning when I was five months pregnant with Grace. I had to call my mom to come take care of Ryley (who was still an infant at the time). I couldn't even pick him up I was so sick.

Did I mention I ate my lunch out on the back patio today? So nice outside!

    Angel Love - Mar 18, 2010 3:02 pm (#302 Total: 486)

    Ahhh....I'm up for nice weather!!

My nephew got whacked in the head with a toy truck today at the babysitters and almost had to have stitches!! The dr. said that it would be more traumatic to have it sewn up for him that to just leave it alone and let it heal since it's not somewhere that will be a big deal. He's not bothered by it all all!!

UGH---eastern time zone means that I have to think of something for supper. Donna can I borrow something out of your freezer?

    Donna S - Mar 18, 2010 3:09 pm (#303 Total: 486)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Certainly Tracy! LOL! What would you like...enchiladas, taco meat, lasagna, chicken noodle casserole?

Oh no!! Poor boy. But I've found they rarely are affected by their injuries. Ethan smashed his chin open on the coffee table when he was two. He did have to have stitches but he was so not interested.

Softball game for Grace tonight. I'm not in the mood!

    Angel Love - Mar 18, 2010 3:48 pm (#304 Total: 486)

When my sister went to pick up my nephew at the babysitters to take him to the dr. to get the cut seen about, he cried because she took him while he was watching Dora!!

    He's seriously cute though!
