our miracle baby Evelyn

hgpatton08 - 04:54am May 18, 2011 EST

our baby was due 8/12/11 but at 20 weeks we discovered i had a shortened cervix, i was put on moderate bed rest until she was born or my cervix got a bit longer. The weekend of easter i was admitted into the hospital for being dehydrated and so they gave me a shot of steroids and magnesium sulfate to help stop early labor and to help baby against brain bleeds. The following monday my water broke and i was re-admitted and was told that i was going to stay there for 10 weeks so she could get bigger but on tuesday morning i was having cramps and about 11am i started having contractions and around 1:30-2pm my membranes ruptured so I had a c-section. And Evelyn Gail was born at 2:06 pm on 4/26/11 she was 24 weeks and 4 days. But she is doing real well in the NICU and we are doing skin to skin which she loves They are hoping that she will come home on her due date so here's hoping!!!

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

I LOVE her name! I'm so glad to read that Evelyn is doing great and is a happy 14 months old! Goes by fast, huh? I hope you are taking lots of pics. The screaming, yeah, still there for us too. She's going to marvel at her birth story and your strength as she grows:) Thanks for giving us an update.
