Alexi, age 5, talks about being a preemie born too soon
LissasWorld - 01:29pm May 10, 2012 ESTPrematurity has become a worldwide epidemic, with 15 million babies being born too soon every year. Out of the 15 million premature babies born, more than 1 million die shortly after birth. I was blessed with a daughter who not only survived, but has beaten all odds after being born 3 months early. Not all families are as fortunate as mine was to have proper prenatal care and expensive treatments for my daughter in the NICU.
To watch my 5 year old daughter proudly talks about herself being a premature baby (with my help!), please click here:

Welcome to SHARE. I'm so glad to hear that your daughter Alexi fought and won. I bet she is such a joy and you've enjoyed every milestone. So true, so true. Still lots of work to be done. Thank you for supporting the March of Dimes.
