Hello Everyone
I am amazed by your stories and to know there are so many woman out in the world That has been through the road I have been through. Here is my story, In 2003 I was pregnant with my 1st child. At 20 weeks my water broke and I was rushed to the hospital. There I was told that my daughter would not survive due to my water breaking. I delivered my daughter Imani, on October 3, 2003. She died with in minutes. I was so devastated. At that time the doctors could not tell me why my water broke. I had no problems before this.
Years later I get pregnant again with my son and that pregnancy my dr put me on progesterone shots weekly. My son R.J went full term and was born healthy on September 11, 2010. He is such a blessing.
What has brought me to this website is my most recent pregnancies. I got pregnant for a 3rd time in October of 2011 and lost the baby at 10 weeks. The baby heart stop beating. Dr said they had no reason for that and told me I was okay and healthy to try again. So my husband and I did try again and I was pregnant again with in months. My 4th pregnancy was going well. I was getting my shots weekly. I had ultrasounds and dr appts often.
Well on April 13, 2012 I had my 20 weeks appt with a full ultrasound to check the babies sex and growth and all. We found out we was having another boy and was happy. Then the doctor looked at my cervix and told me I need to be hospitalized right away. I was admitted to the hospital and put on 100% bedrest. I was told I had an incompetent cervix and that my cervix was gone. They said they was concerned about doing a cerclage because it was too close to my membranes and the did not want to break my water. So I stayed on bedrest in the antenatal unit of the hospital for a week. Then they decide we should try the cerclage. My husband and I are told of the risk and we decide to do it because we want to do everything we can to have a healthy baby boy.
The surgery was a success and everything was going well.
I was at 22 weeks and 6 days when I started having contractions. During this whole time I am still in the hospital on 100% bedrest. I can't even get out the bed to go to the bathroom. Well at 22 weeks and 6 days my contractions start and I tell my nurse. She was a sweet woman and we had grown to know each other in my 3 weeks in the hospital. She kept me calm called the dr and they started me on an IV of medicine that should stop contractions. But the contractions kept coming more and more painful and faster. My nurse called the doctor again and they tried to give me a shot of another medicine but my heart rate was too high for the medicine. So they kept my IV going with the 1st medicine. It was not working. My contractions started at 3pm on May 4, 2012 and at 7:53 pm the doctor said there was nothing more they could due and that I was fully dilated and in labor. I gave birth to my second son Eli'jah on May 4, 2012. He did not live. May he R.I.P. Now I am planning another funeral and wondering what went wrong? I am so sad and heartbroken. I have been online reading about my situation and the grief I am going through. I just don't know what to do or think about my situation. This website is a great outlet for me and I thank you for listening and letting me share my story.
