Transabdominal Cerclage
TDungan - 03:52pm Jun 12, 2012 ESTThree weeks ago today I had a transabdominal cerclage and I am still sore. Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience and curious about how long the discomfort lasted.

Hello and welcome to Share! I haven't had a TAC but one of my friends has and I'll send her a message to see what her experience was. It may be a little different for her though as she was already pregnant when she got hers put in. I think with most surgeries they say six weeks is about the healing time for the most part though still a bit tender after that. I'll let you know what she says when she responds! I hope that you find yourself more comfortable soon.

My friend got back to me and she said hers only hurt for 1-2 weeks but thinks it was because she was so on top of taking her pain meds exactly on time for the first couple of days. Is it any better today? Have you talked to your doctor about if it's normal or not? Can't hurt to ask. Hugs!

Definitely ask your doctor if you have questions. That's why they get paid the big bucks! Wishing you success with your pregnancy and comfort soon.
