Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait campaign

ECB316 - 07:53pm Jul 4, 2012 EST

Hi everyone!
I came across the Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait campaign that March of Dimes is conducting. The point of this campaign is to encourage babies to be born at 39 or more weeks. I totally agree with this campaign, however being a mother of a premature baby who was born at 32 weeks through no fault of my own (i.e. I took care of myself during my pregnancy and before)...this campaign felt a little offensive. Am I understanding correctly that there is a rise in women who ELECTIVELY want to have their baby before 39 weeks and thus this campaign was created? Hopefully this is the case, otherwise this campaign hurts my feelings because I could not control my pregnancy...I would have loved to have gone to 39 weeks, but my body did otherwise and this is not my fault. I know I am still very sensitive to a lot of things since I am still processing that I had a premature baby unexpectedly...but again I can't but help to feel angry when there is campaign suggesting the best thing is to wait when there are so many women out there like myself who were unable to wait through no fault of their own. Any additional info. would be appreciated

Come to ShareUnion 2012: It's the BEST weekend ever!!!

Do they not cover it at all or do you need a prior authorization for it? We have united healthcare and they say a lot of things aren't covered but really we just need a medical justification for it before they will cover it. But we live in different states and I've never need mag so Im not sure about that.

I'm pretty sure where I live, if you need those meds longer than a week, it won't be covered. There was such a clash over opinions concerning this with a certain perinatal association, that the OB, who delivered our first son, left the Valley for CA after 30 years of medical practice that he helped start.
