Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Liz: Lol, it's benadryl and mylanta. Works wonders. He ate almost an entire jr roast beef from arbys. I got it because I knew he loved it and sure enough an hour after the mouthwash he ate up!

Lorena: That's great news about your thesis getting accepted!! My friend is dealing with trying to graduate with her masters and getting her thesis and stuff all done, like you she's having to deal with silly university rules.

Leigh: Tons of hugs and congrats on Easton's arrival! Can't wait till he's home with you!

Donna: Aww, poor E, I hope he gets into a routine soon for the both of you. I hope Ryley had a great first day too!

Tracy: Wishing you some better naps in there!

Laura: Tons of hugs, one of my first patients that died was so sweet, definitely heartbreaking.

Happy birthday Lauren! Happy birthday Jess! Happy birthday Easton!! Popular day to be born!

Elim is doing a tad better, definitely not as whiney and I force-fed him about 7 oz of water and/or milk with a syringe. He did start taking some sips on his own this afternoon without prompting. He had two decent dipes.....and nothing since He did have a diarrhea type dipe which is not going to help things on the dehydration front. Tomorrow it is my mission to get at least three good dipes out of him, there's no alternative. He got blisters on his foot so we're for sure going with hand foot and mouth disease. Back in Loganville now visiting with my brothers for the next week. My parents come back Tuesday night till I leave Monday to hang out with everyone.

BecauseofAlaina - Aug 21, 2012 4:31 am (#191 Total: 291)

mom to Emily (36 weeker)- 8 yo, Alaina (33 weeker)- 5 yo, Matthew (37 weeker)- 3 yo

Hey all,
Katie--- love the pictures and wish I was seeing nkotb with you. Love them.
Leigh--- congrats on the baby and hope he is doing well
Tracy-- we are not crack to school yet but I feel for you and the long weeks already. PS-- I loved your picture of the y'all stuff. Actually gave me a chuckle cause I pictured you teaching everyone the terminology.
Donna-- glad the first day was ok. Glad he was able to relax and get off to school a little calmer.
Lauren and Jess--happy birthday girlies xoxo

So ladies, hope everyone is getting themselves ready for back to school and such. We don't start for about 2 weeks but we still have to finish summer homework. Emily got 16 pages math, 44 pages hebrew( she goes to a yeshiva (religious school)), and she has to read 2 chapter books and write about them. Gotta love that. Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow
Xoxo

Donna S - Aug 21, 2012 3:41 pm (#192 Total: 291)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Liz - That's awesome on the job front, but I'm kinda the same way when it comes to my workout. Good luck with that!

Geri - That's a lot of summer homework to get done in two weeks.

Lauren - Wrinkles? Oy..don't get me started.

Stacy - Grrrrr. Hope he bounces back soon.

Laura - Can't wait to see you!! Hugs on the loss of one of your residents. That's so sad.

Tracy - Here's hoping things settle down so you can have your naps back.

Jess - HUGS! Miss ya!

Day two drop-off done. Ethan struggled again this morning. We finally just had a quiet little talk. I told him I know he hates having to do things on someone else's schedule, but he needs to wrap his brain around the fact school has started and this is our routine for the next nine months. Sigh. Time to pull out the "jobs" cards again I guess. Ryley LOVED middle school.

Arnara - Aug 21, 2012 6:26 pm (#193 Total: 291)

Happy Birthday Easton!! And Jessica....

Lauren ; hope you had a great day and you are not old at all.... I am doing all the impossible imaginable things to make it to SU, if I can't know that I did all I could, but so far I am 55% sure I am coming....

Donna: so glad Riley loved middle school... sorry about Ethan is struggling in the mornings, hope he is settle in the routine soon...

Laura: so sad the resident died, yes I know what you mean I also get sad when ppl I know die... Wow that sounds like a great adventure trip to CA.... hope you all enjoy it, and you don't have to run too much getting ready for it...

Katie: I forgot to comment you look awesome, and let me tell you that I think pink/salmon is your color.... wow you look so tanned and healthy!

Jessica: Enjoy those last days of vacation...

Gerri: wow that is a lot of homework to do...

Blah, I forgot all that was said here, ah Stacy, so glad Elim is much better and eating, that is a good sign, oh yes it seems like univ likes to play jokes in the last things to be graduate... but the good thing is one of my professors is now chief of academics of the Master, so he knows me, and he is very open and ready to help....

So now I am going to school meeting, for S grades, I don't suffer for it as I used to, S has improved so much... My menu options for lunch and dinner are running out... maybe I need to learn new recipes.....

So happy Tuesday everyone

Lorena

Arnara - Aug 21, 2012 6:30 pm (#194 Total: 291)

Liz: yes I know what you mean, I like to be in the gym to workout not to socialize... I mean is ok a hi here a hello there, but not a big conversations, I have seen many girls do that, that is why I like to swim, no one is talking in the pool....

KHolley - Aug 21, 2012 7:16 pm (#195 Total: 291)

Lorena-You are so sweet!!!! I am happy to hear that S has improved, good luck at the meeting!

Liz-I am not a social person either when it comes to working out! Give me some head phones and a magazine!

Lauren-Happy Birthday!!!!!

Jess-I wish I would have known, I would have loved to see you! We will be there next year for sure!

Donna-So sorry Ethan had a rough morning, I hope his day went well. I bet Ryley loved middle school! I love seeing all the 6th graders on their first day!

Alright, off the get the kiddos to football/cheer practice. It is raining, so I am kind of hoping that it does not stop!

stacyat - Aug 22, 2012 1:24 am (#196 Total: 291)

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Geri: Wow.....summer homework? I don't think I had any summer homework till I was a senior in high school!

Donna: Hopefully the jobs cards will work for you both, and YAY on a good first day of school!

Lorena: I always struggle on what to make for lunch, it's usually same old same old with a PB&J.....yeah, totally not creative here.

Guh......he woke up seven times last night, two before I went to sleep. He went down for a nap at 9:45. We headed out to the mall of Georgia and walked around, basically the same stores they have in Oklahoma! Stopped at Sugar Kneads on the way back, yum! Not sure what I'm gonna do tomorrow, though I really do want to go to the flying biscuit cafe at some point while I'm here, I think a few of you went there two years ago, yum!

Angel Love - Aug 22, 2012 1:24 am (#197 Total: 291)

Lorena~ I hope the meeting went well. Way to go for S. in his improvements!!

Geri~ That is a lot of homework for the summer!!! That school should just switch to year-round if that's the way they do the kids.

Laura~ Sorry about the special resident....

Donna~ Woohoo for R. loving middle school!!! I'm sure that brought big smiles to you! Hopefully E. will get into the routine of school and will settle down for the mornings.

Stacy ~ Glad Elim is showing some signs of improvement. Enjoy the time visiting your brother!

I'm all done.....can't remember anything else. That's so sad, huh?

Do any of you have kids that just for random reasons cry at the drop of a hat???

Ansley has become super attached to me lately...especially since school started. It drives me nuts because she's "weepy" when there's something new.... I understand that she's changed schools again and her dad has introduced new situations into her life, but come on!! I haven't changed and I'm working in the same building! It's exhausting!!!!

esgf - Aug 22, 2012 4:44 pm (#198 Total: 291)

Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05)

I have missed so much but I'll try to hit the highlights from the past few days.

Lorena-Congratulations on the thesis and I hope the meeing for S. went well.

Liz- Congratulations on the job, I hope T likes pre school.
Lauren- Happy Belated Birthday and I agree the star of the Guardian is good. Do you watch the Mentalist. It is funny you mention the Guardian b/c the student I was working with in England was into maybe I should try it again.

Donna- Am glad that R loves middle school. Bless him. All kids cannot say that. I hope things get easier with E once a few more days pass.

I hope Elim feels better soon.

Freshmen moved in yesterday. Parent stuff today so it is time to break out the suit stuff. Today is matriculation so we even get to wear our academic robes. They are a bit goofy but I kind of like 'em. Abigail is home with my MIL. Hopefully today is better. Apparently she was well-behaved but she waas bored. Well back to getting class and research stuff together.

Happy Birthday to Easton. I hope all is well.

Tracy- I am sorry Ansley is being clingy at the start of the year. Abigail is too this week and she has none of her excuses. Good luck. Just think. Only two more days left in the week.

Angel Love - Aug 22, 2012 10:06 pm (#199 Total: 291)

Ellen~ Maybe it's just a little girl pact to be whiney this week!!

Freshmen......scare 'em into the routine then they'll be just like the rest of the students!!

Bus dismissal is getting better!!!

Totally wiped out today and can't help but think that our school week would be over tomorrow if we were still on our 4 day week.... Oh well! Might as well get use to it!!

One of our board members asked a student if he liked his new school. He said no, that he liked the old one better. When asked why, the little boy said that he liked his old school better because they only went to school 4 days at his old school...

Too cute that he doesn't realize that we're all in the same boat!!!

lvazquez - Aug 22, 2012 11:14 pm (#200 Total: 291)

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

Lauren - Happy belated birthday! Hoping you get a few more hours of sleep soon:)

Donna - Yay for a great first day for R!

Lorena - Having a sitdown tonight. There are 10 water bottles in her room and I lost track of the orange! She treats it like a dorm room. Oh yes, should be fun. Waiting till after dinner to chat. Hoping we can all relax a bit more (ME) when rules and expectations are explained. Yay for Masters thesis approval:)

Stacy - How's Elim doing?

Tracy - Too funny! Thank you, I so needed that.

Ellen - Hope all is okay with your daughter's teacher:) I think we are all hoping for a good one.

Geri - That's A LOT of pages. She so ROCKS! Enjoy those last few weeks before the big day:)

Got stopped by the Assistant Principal yesterday afternoon at pick-up. Really? You want to talk to me now when I need to round up my other kiddo and make it to PT by 3:30? Aaaah! Mr. T was doing his usual when he's bored, diengaged, or needs to go #2. The staff is totally untrained to deal with my son. It's so sad. E-mailed her a big list of suggestions. We'll see . . .

KHolley - Aug 23, 2012 12:10 am (#201 Total: 291)

Tracy-It must be the week of whiny girls! Alex is so whiney and clingy this week!

Ellen-Good luck with the newbies!

Lindsay-Bad timing much?!!! I hope that they take your suggestions to heart.

Stacy-Enjoy your trip, hopefully Elim feels better!

Alex had to be picked up early today because of a fever...really? It's day 3! We now have 3 EBD units from 1, at the school I teach at, for those of you that don't know, it is the highest need for behavior problems. We inherited the whole west side of the county! We have had 3 suspended from there already!!! This is going to be an interesting year.

Angel Love - Aug 23, 2012 1:08 am (#202 Total: 291)

Katie~ Ugh....that makes for a tough year because with so many they feed off one another. At least seperated, there is a little down time. Sorry to hear about Alex not feeling well. We already have stomach bug making its rounds and we've only been there 6 days.

Lindsay~ Pick-up??? Seriously???? I don't think so! I hope that they'll get their act together and get some training for their teachers. That's crazy!!

Akeelah's Mommy - Aug 23, 2012 1:16 am (#203 Total: 291)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

Lindsay- I hope they are receptive.

Tracy- Hope you can separate your lil' 'opihi (what we call clingy kiddos here- an 'Opihi is a lil' shelled creature that hangs on to rocks like it's nobodies business)

Katie- Hope she feels better soon!

Ellen- Awww new freshman moving... wow, seems like that was just yesterday!

Stacy- How is Mr. Elim doin?

Lorena- I'm right there with you needing new recipes!

I have to share this conversation with Micah yesterday after he made doo doo.

"Look mommy, I made a mountain." And then he ponders. "But I can not climb it."

stacyat - Aug 23, 2012 2:06 am (#204 Total: 291)

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Tracy: Haha!! Too cute about them liking the four day school week better!

Lindsay: Ugh, so sorry for the problems. Hopefully after a few weeks they'll figure out how best to help T.

Lauren: LOL, what a little thinker you have.

Elim is doing much better! His throat looks so much better, mostly healed and the rash on his feet is pretty much gone too. We went to the aquarium today figuring on it being pretty empty and it totally was! That way we got to see everything plus didn't have to worry about him being close enough to anyone to spread the germs if there are any remaining.

lvazquez - Aug 23, 2012 9:28 pm (#205 Total: 291)

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

Lauren - So cute:) Are you guys using a potty chart or how are you doing things?

Tracy - It's insane!

Stacy - I'm glad Elim is feeling a bit better.

Katie - You're awesome for helping those at-risk kiddos. Geez, 3 already suspended huh? That's tough. What are you doing to unwind?

Well, I was informed this morning that Mr. T ran away during specials and had himself a little more recess time. Not sure which special it was (PE/Art/Music). Maybe he doesn't like a particular teacher and wanted to avoid it completely? Why didn't the teacher tell me this yesterday the day it happened? How can I address these things if no one tells me what's going on?! Helper came today 15 min. early to take him to pull out session. This interrupted his morning work and he was all shades of confused. Routine, hello?

Donna S - Aug 23, 2012 11:16 pm (#206 Total: 291)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Lauren - That just totally made me laugh.

Stacy - So happy to hear Elim is doing better. Yay! Aquarium trip sounds awesome.

Tracy - I don't know how you do it. Wahoo for bus dismissal getting better. Poor Ansley.....

Lindsay - At pick up? Seriously? Hope they take the suggestions to heart. Document!!!! Did the talk with the exchange student help?

Katie - Good luck! That does sound like an interesting year is on the horizon. How's Alex feeling?

Ellen - Good luck!!!

Well, Ethan had a much better morning today. He was reminded in therapy of the rewards for getting his morning jobs done. Today, he had everything done before I even came downstairs. Here's hoping it lasts. Yesterday was better than Tuesday, but still not great. Therapist said to just give him a couple of weeks to settle into the new routine and if he hasn't improved then, we will look at what's going on and address it more directly. This morning, he bopped a kid on the elbow walking into school because the kid was being sarcastic and told Ethan he was wrong about a friend's name. To most kids, it wouldn't matter, but telling Ethan he's wrong is like throwing a red flag in his face. Baby steps, right?

Grace starts her pre-pointe class tonight. I don't know who's more excited...me or her.

Akeelah's Mommy - Aug 23, 2012 11:47 pm (#207 Total: 291)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

Stacy- Glad Elim is on the mend... love me some aquarium time!

Lindsay- Reframe... a runner is a great way to get an aide

Donna- Congrats to you and Grace! Oy.. telling Ethan he is wrong... I can see how that could get ugly quick...

The day hinges on whether Micah is going to actually fall asleep or just stare at the walls in his room...

Angel Love - Aug 24, 2012 1:38 am (#208 Total: 291)

Lauren~ That's a smart boy you have there!!! Least he didn't try to climb it before pondering what he should or shouldn't do! Hope he has sleeping plans too.

Stacy~ Glad E-man is doing better and ya'll were able to enjoy the aquarium!

Lindsay~ Seriously?? A day later on the running thing? Don't they understand that you need to handle things while he still remembers it and it can make a difference?

Donna~ Yay for Ethan having a great morning!!! He's getting it, but he's like the rest of us in that he needs some time to adjust to this crazy school stuff! I'm not usually a happy camper in the mornings either and it's my own schedule!!

How many days till SU???? I'm in serious need of some girl time and some time away from school.

Yes, we just started, but this is the most stressful year I've ever had!!

Arnara - Aug 24, 2012 1:57 am (#209 Total: 291)

Donna: pre-point??? is that ballet? Oh yes I totally understand you, the same here with S even if a kid looks him "strange" (I don't know what is that strange look) ... glad Ethan is getting into mornings routines....

Lindsay: How a 5 year-old kid can escape from class??? this strange things from teachers makes me think of homeschooling... Did you spoke with your exchange student?? I think you need a chore board....

Stacy: glad Elim is feeling better.... I love aquariums, I hope Elim enjoy it...

Ellen: glad to see you here, oh so you start next week work... good luck....

Katie: oh those viruses are quick, 3rd day and sick, poor Alex.... suspended those kids in the 3rd day! really where do you work??

Tracy: sorry Ansley is upset, poor girl, I know I get you I can't stand crying, and miss V is getting like truly drama queen... drives me insane sometimes all her crying....

Lauren: I loved that word and explanation.... So funny Micah... he amazed me how much and well he speaks...

Liz: how is work?

Well I am still trying to catch a flight for SU, so complicated, seems like everyone is traveling to Orlando this year in October, in fact I spoke to 3 different friends and all told me they will be in Orlando in those days.... And since I like to plan and plan every single detail in a trip, and study all my options, I have been studying how to get from the airport to hotel, bus you take the route 111, shuttle you have to schedule before the trip, taxi is like $60 to the hotel and did you know there is a kind of Titanic museum, and a B. B. King blues bar/restaurant (so different to travel without the kids so many more options).

Hope you all had a great Thursday

Lorena

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

Tracy- I'm with you... Share mommas "in real life" ooooooooh you just can not top it!!

Lorena- Whew! It is a popular place! What a small world (after all... it's a small world after alll... now stuck in my head) that all those friends will be there too!!

Nap... check. And today is Lance's birthday, and for his birthday he wanted to have "movie night" and introduce Micah to his fav movie Wizard of Oz..

And oooh that was my 8000th post! I can't wait to be as cool as Tracy and have close to 20K

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

Donna - I'm glad his day ws better and he was reminded of those incentives.

Lorena - Sounds like a lot of exciting things to do in Orlando:) Yeah, his class is right by a door which leads to outside (gated of course, but still).

Lauren - Congrats on your post! That's a lot of posts:) Yeah, just trying to keep all of the facts straight and dates written correctly.

I was on the phone last night with his teacher for more than an hour talking about what's working and what isn't. The sit-down with the exchange student went well Wed. night. She was receptive:) It's Friday right? It's Friday? Last minute lunches to pull together and off to school we go, I mean, the kids, I mean me, I mean . . . what's my name?

Donna S - Aug 24, 2012 4:10 pm (#213 Total: 291)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Lauren - Congrats on 8000 posts, and on Micah napping!! Happy Birthday to Lance.

Lindsay - Sooooo feeling that pain of not even knowing your own name. Yay on the chat with the student going decently well.

Tracy - Amen!! Cannot wait to see you all and get some real live hugs. Sending thoughts and prayers your way this year is better than it has started.

Lorena - Yes, pre-pointe is for ballet. My little girl is one step away from being a "real ballerina" (as she says). Good luck finding a flight. :-0 Ethan is the same way with getting those "strange looks" from other kids. Sigh....

Pre-pointe class went pretty well. Grace is realizing how much work this year is going to be for her. But she loved it. Time to get my house cleaned. I don't even know where to start.

Akeelah's Mommy - Aug 24, 2012 6:12 pm (#214 Total: 291)

Lindsay- I gotta say, that's great dedication from the teacher to invest so much time and interest hearing suggestions. Always great to have a team open to input.

Donna- Where to start cleaning your house? The wine bottle

Friday Friday...

Hi girls,
just a quickie. no time or energy to write much ... i got about four good hours of sleep in a nine-hour period thanks to a little munchkin who's got some teeth coming in.

anyhoo -- one for your friday laughs: the other night i was doing dishes and realized it was too quiet in the living room. walked in to find Kelsey chewing on one of kaelin's crayons. Later in the evening, we were in the bathroom getting ready for bedtime, and the little stinker licks the side of the toilet.

have a great weekend everyone.

Lauren~ Happy Birthday to Lance!! Thanks for the song for the day.....

Lorena~ Good luck with finding a flight! I hope it's not that hard when I start looking.....

Donna~ A "real ballerina"???!!!! She's going to be a beautiful ballerina---she already is!!!

Lindsay~ Yay for the talk going well. Hopefully she'll put it into practice.

Finally it's FRIDAY!!!!!! I can't tell you how much I needed this weekend! Seriously, one more day and those kiddos might have carried me away because their energy kept building while mine was going away!!!

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Tracy: 56 days!

Lorena: Hoping you can figure out a flight, I'd love to see you again!

Lauren: Happy birthday Lance!!!

Lindsay: Awesome that his teacher is so willing to take suggestions on how to help him better in class?

Elim is back to 100%!! Today we went to the zoo and there were some pretty cute baby gorillas playing out there! Then we went to my brother's work, he works at deljou art group. It was so cool seeing all those pieces of art most of which were at least five figures and seeing some of the ones my brother had worked on!
