BABY EJ

Nov 12, 2008 02:49am (EST)

am hoping this gets in the right place but here goes. i would like everyone to meet my miracle baby. he is very little, very strong willed and very determined. My little wonderful, GOD sent, and blessed grandson came in this world on september 13th, 2008. he weighted in at 1lb. and 6ozs. he was 12.5 inches long. He was so little and fragile. We were all very scared to touch and hold him when we were able to. Thanks to the doctors, march of dimes and the nicu at The Children Hospital of the Kings Daughters in Norfolk,va. my grandson is showing the world what he is made of and that is hope ane determation. He is now 2lbs. and 13ozs, he has grown to 15 inches long. They are testing him a few hours a day to get him off the breathing tube but we ask them not to push to hard. At one time he had a bleed in his brain but that has since gone, he has all ready had a operation on his heart to close a hole and he has come threw that and still trying to pull the tubes out of his mouth and nose. My daughter pumps her breast every two hours so he will have enough breast milk to go in his feeding tube. For him to be so small he has a big want for food cause he is feeding on 19cc's every time they feed him. I truly thank GOD for him and you all because this has given me a place to put down my thoughts and to share my and his story. I am so proud of him, and i love him with all my heart. I forgot to say that he was not suppose to be born till Jan.5th, 2009. He was born at 23 weeks.
