Raising awareness through scrapbooking and storyboards

DNASMOM - 04:29pm Dec 9, 2007 EST
Mom to a feeder and grower born June 2004 almost 33 wks 2lb 13 oz.

Prematurity Awareness month has come to an end for 2007, but there is no reason we can't continue to raise awareness throughout the year.

Have you ever considered raising awareness through scrapbooking or storyboards? The March of Dimes has thought of such a concept with their new website Every Baby Has a Story. It allows you to create a scrapblog that you can email to family members and friends. There is even an area for readers to sponsor your story.

I thought it would be fun to do something similar here at Share. In this thread we can exchange tips and ideas on how to create a srapbook page or storyboard that will tell your child's story and help raise awareness to our mission. You can talk to your local chapter about displaying your page or storyboard at an upcoming event such as March for Babies (formerly Walkamerica) Maybe you would just like to create a page as a keepsake of your child(ren).

I know we have lots of scrapbook lovers here at Share so lets share ideas. Get out those templates and cricuts and let's crop!!

If you have an idea on how to raise awareness through scrapbooking or storyboards, please share it here.

Mommy to my Braden (30 wks, 1 lb. 11 oz) & Blake (28 wks, 1 lb. 6 oz.)

In central Iowa we have a Mission Family Scrapbook. We've done it for 2 years now! We ask any families who want to participate if they want to bring 1-2 pages about the person that they walk for. A lot of them did a Then and Now page, it turned out great!
And then last year, those who were already in the book were able to make an updated page and we added it in and then put newcomers in too. We are going to need a new book this year because it just keeps growing and growing.
We have it out at "March" and then we take it to baby fairs and lobbying days, anywhere where it might be needed! It's been great so far!
Hugs
Carissa

That is such a great idea Carissa! We started a binder this last year but only have a handful of pages in it. I'm hoping to get more family teams on board at the 2008 March for Babies.
We can tell our story over and over but when people actually see pics it creates quite an impact. I'll try to dig out the page I made for Domonique and post a pic.

Kara ~ I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your Every Baby has a story page! I also created one and I was amazed at how easy they made it to create. They provide all the templates and all I had to do was insert pics and whatever I wanted to write about Domonique. I love the way it turned out and I even have the option to keep adding to it. I may even add her video for the March for Babies!
Here is a link to my page. Domonique's story
