18 Month old having Hypospadia Surgery

Shelly A. - 04:19am Feb 24, 2010 EST
Mommy of Brady-32 Weeker

Our son Brady who will be 18 months old next Wednesday, and is going in for round one of his hypospadia surgery next Tuesday. I am so nervous, yet anxious at the same time, because I just want to get it over with. This surgery will remove all the extra fore skin, and also correct the fact that the tip of his penis is tethered at the base. Sometime this fall, he will under go round two, to re-route the urethra from the base to the tip. I am not afraid of the outcome, I have absolute confidence and trust in Brady's urologist. The main concern I have is how much pain Brady will be in, just hate seeing him hurt!! I was also wondering how long it would take for him to recover. I know each child is different! But I would appreciate any comments or encouraging words to help me get through this.

Thanks Much,
Shelly A.

my son too has Hypospadia

Hi there.. My son is 6 months old..His hypospadia is 2 degree level. He is going to have surgery next month. I am scared to death. Our doctor said he could only decide during surgery whether one stage or two stage operation is required to correct. Pls pray for my son too. Hope god be with him during surgery and all his life.

I will keep your son in my thoughts. I don't have personal experience but I have 2 different friends that have both been through this with their sons and there have been no problems. I will hope that same goes for your son.
