My Fighters Rahlyn and Brystol

My name is Haylee Gabel. My husband Adam and I had been praying and trying for years to get pregnant and then out of the blue when we weren't trying we finally did! We were blessed enough to find out that it was twins! We found out in December that we had one boy, but the other one was hiding. At my next ultrasound in January we found out the other one was a girl! Perfect! One of each!! My due date was May 6, 2012, but they were gonna try to get me to 38 weeks. I had a good pregnancy just some crazy morning sickness at the beginning. I had my last check up appointment on Feb. 6 and everything was fine. On Feb. 9 I had started having some clenching in my belly but I just figured it was braxton hicks. I went back to my clinic on Friday Feb. 10 and low and behold I was having contractions and was actually dilated to 3. I went to the hospital to try and get my labor stopped and had no success. I was 27.5 weeks. I delivered Rahlyn Tyler at 11:27pm he 2lbs 10oz and 15 inches. Brystol Lee was born at 11:36pm she was 2lbs 13oz and 14 inches. They were both taken up to the NICU right away. I was not able to see them until 3am. Those hours killed me. I just wanted to see my babies and make sure they were okay. I am lucky enough to say that they were okay! They had very immature lungs. A couple days later the tubes were taken out and cannulas were put it and they did okay on those. They have been in the NICU 5 weeks today. Rahlyn is currently 3lbs 9oz and Brystol is 4lbs 0.1oz. They both still have their ups and downs but everyday I look at them and sometimes if I'm lucky enough I get little smirks out of them I am so blessed to have them both and pray everyday that they keep getting stronger so I can bring them home!
