jackson's journey
wilkerson13 - 06:51am Apr 5, 2012 ESThello my name is donni jo I am a single mother who has learned more about the meaning of life in the last 9 1/2 years, than I have in my 35 years. It all happen on may 22 2002 when jackson was born to me he was perfect of course we all say that, but he was born with bilateral club feet , so of course what any mother would do is start taking care of the problem which my doctor went to work it took a few weeks for us to locate a doctor but once we did our journey had began, I drove 6hrs to meet one of the most important person in my life to this day, he started right away with what needed to be done we did case corrective shoes, and surgery jackson had his first surgery July 2002 and its april 2012 we just had surgery number 14 and yes i did say its a 6 hour drive and 6 hour drive home a total of 12 hours , after all that has happen with jackson from school to adjusting to a wheelchair not being able to play football i could go on and on almost 10 years of driving 12hrs once a week he still has such a wonderful outlook on life, and has my heart in the palm of his hand i could not image life without him i have people ask me why i am not married or why i dont really go out with friends or focus on my life and say stuff like i dont know how u do it all the driving all i can do is just look at them like wow how could u ask such a stupid question thats my baby my child i would go to the moon and back its what a mother just does for her babies i never even thought twice about what i didnt have or how much i drive all i think about is him and how he must feel i want for him nothing but the best so for those who have a child with club feet or foot and for those who are getting ready to face the changer ahead it is so worth the journey it really has tough me alot, about life and the way so many of us take the little everyday things for granted, be thankful for what god gives even if its not perfect cause no one walking the earth is good luck to all on our journeys

Welcome to share!!
You are an amazing momma!!! Jackson was meant to be your little boy. It is nice to hear that even though he has obstacles to overcome, Jackson still has a bright outlook. It reminds us of the innocence of kids and gives us strength to keep going
Thanks for sharing your story
