Baskets for NICU Parents

Melissa M. - 01:31pm May 24, 2005 EST
Mom of 25 weekers, Now Age 5 & 1.2 (3 surviving quads)

Hi All-

I am putting together baskets for NICU parents (not the kids...the parents) and SHARE PoPs popped into my mind when I thought about what should be put into these welcome baskets.

Here are my two trains of thoughts...1) baskets for new parents in the NICU...things that will bring comfort or that they might needs during their child's stay....2) baskets for parents who have lost a child in the NICU.

I am asking for family and friends to donate right now to help pad these baskets...in honor of my kids and in memory of Alex. But what to put into these baskets? Think relatively inexpensive but something that will be meaningful to the people getting the baskets.

Thank guys...I have no fear that you will help me out with this one!: smile:

The baskets sound beautiful and well thought out! Way to go!! I'm sure every parent who will receive one will find it helpful, and touching.

You are an amazing woman with a special gift. I'm proud to say I know you.

My update

Hi everyone,
I only have a minute b/c I'm at work and the kiddies are coming in....
I brought my gifts bags for the new PoP's at Alex's NICU this past weekend.... They were very well received!
I included a journal and pen, an angel charm that says "you have been blessed" (it's a Catholic Hospital ), some candy, and a flyer for SHARE (of course)!!!!
I hope to see some more PoP's from my area on the Share site soon!!!!
Have a great day
Donna
