    Re: Palm Harbor

I am guessing that Palm Harbor is the west coast of FL so if I am right we are about 200+ miles apart. I am here to talk if you need me.

Thanks, have you heard of the 17p shots? I was wondering if there are any side effects and what the risks are for the baby.

    Re: Thanks

    Hi KHolley,

My name is Darcy and I am the Share Your Story Community Coordinator. I wanted to direct you to the Parent to Parent section entitled, "Pregnant? On bedrest? Trying Again?"; there are many discussions about the 17P shots.

Alternatively, in the upper left search box if you put in 17P, several discussion pop up.

    Welcome to Share!

    SWFL (Ft. Myers) NICU parents?

    Hi,
I'm mom to a 5.5 week old (born at 29 weeks) son and a "term" daughter (now 18 months). Both of my children have experienced NICU (my daughter only 1 day though). My son is still at the hospital in level II. The hospital doesn't facilitate a support group or have other means for parents to get together. I'm looking for local NICU parents (veterans and those with their baby(ies) still in NICU/Level II) here in SWFL. How can I reach more? I've started a blog, as well as an online forum/group elsewhere and would like to invite them to share with me and meet each other.

    My blog: http://tylergraddy.blogspot.com/
    The group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SWFLpreemies/join

Re: SWFL (Ft. Myers) NICU parents?

Thank you. It's nice to connect with other parents. It's been hard not really getting to know other parents in NICU and even harder when I overhear or witness them all going home while my Tyler is still there....

How is your baby, Nia, right?

I am in Palm Harbor, which is right outside of Tampa. We were in the NICU for 2 weeks with my daughter. Feel free to ask any questions.

    Welcome!

Jenny~ She is a wonderful little four year old now.
I understand your frustrations watching other babies go home before yours. Nia was there longer than most babies. It was four months for us. It seems like a blur now. I hope all is going good. Keep us posted.
