Anyone in Birmingham?
I've been looking for preemie moms in Birmingham that might be interested in meeting for a play group every now and then. It's always so nice to be able to get together with people that have an idea of what you have been through!

My prayers for you
To the SHARE families on the Alabama coast:
I pray that your families and friends have been spared. All around the country, your state, as well as Mississippi and Lousiana, are clutched in prayer and concern.
People can not find enough ways to outpour their compassion. Far away in states and countries all over the world, we hold our breath and shake our heads in disbelief about the images we are seeing on the TV screen. Never has the US seen such a thing in it's own yard.
Please feel free to come and SHARE your needs. Ask and you shall receive. I pray that the displacement, the loss, the devastation can be replaced, rebuilt and reinvested to make your state a home-sweet-home once again.

Anyone in Dothan, or Near??
My daughter was born in Birmingham, and there were a few parents from our area that were in the NICU with their little ones. And we would love to get in touch with them or any other preemie moms and dads for a play group. If interested let me know!!

I would love to help with anything. My daughter now 5 months was born at 32 weeks. And I would love to get involved with any projects.

Help in Alabama
If you haven't heard from anyone yet, you ought to contact the state office in Birmingham at 205-824-0103. They could connect you with the closest office to where you live. My son, born at 26 weeks, served as an ambassador for a local walk. Since then, we have been involved with the March of Dimes in several ways. It is very rewarding to use our own experience with prematurity to hopefully help someone else.

New In Alabama
I just moved here from the DC/MD area to Sheffield, AL. I have a 9 month old preemie. I need help finding a good Ped. that work well with preemies.

Hi, I am not really sure where, Sheffield is or how far it is from Dothan Alabama, but I use Southeastern Peds Dr. Angela Blaxton and she is wonderful!!! She has followed my daughters care since we came home from Birmingham and she is just great!!! All of the doctors there are really good but I just really like her and she is very good with my daughter!! I hope this helps you some!! Also I don't know if you have had your childs eyes checked but I use Dr. Sugg in dothan as well. He is very good with children. Let me know if you have any other questions.

any babies in NICU at B'ham with arthrogryposis and/or infantile scoliosis
Hi just wondering if there are any of you who had babies at Childrens Hospital in Birmingham (NICU) with either of these conditions. My baby was not born there but was transported there the day she was born (2-16-06.)she has distal arthrogryposis and infantile scoliosis. thanks Janet

I recently had a preemie girl born at 27 weeks gestation at UAB in Birmingham, AL. We were there from 5/1/08 until 7/13/08. It would really be great to meet other local moms...this has been so exhausting and this is only the beginning.

Alabama
My name is Brandy. I live in Auburn and would love to meet anyone in the area. Grace was born at EAMC but was transported to the NICU at Baptist South. We were there for 10 days because she was having seizures. We struggle with this everyday. We have such a long road ahead of us, it would be great to talk to others who are just working through day by day.
