Re: New Jersey(ians) Where are you???
I also live in NJ. I have 10 month old girl/boy twins and live in Burlington County. The twins were born at 31 weeks and spent five weeks in the Pennsylvania Hospital Intensive Care Nursery. I understand what you mean about non stop. The twins definitely keep us busy, especially since they are now so much more mobile!

From Sussex County
Hi, my name's Kaylene. My daughter Callihan Rose was born at 32 weeks. She's now a happy and healthy 16 month old. She's also a terror who has developed a wonderful temper when she doesn't get her way. I guess because she was premature, we spoiled her a little too much. LOL Oh well.
We're also an Ambassador Family for the MOD.

From Union County
Hi! There are lots of us from Jersey that have had premature babies, just not lots that post. I live in Cranford and am the proud mother of two NICU graduates from Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. My daughter is 3 1/2 years old and was born at 32 weeks (a large 4.5 pounds) and my son is 9 months old and almost came at 30 weeks but we held him off until 34 weeks (also a large 5 pounds 13 ounces). They are both healthy and spunky!!!

Hoboken Mom looking for help with Hospital bills
Hi Everyone,
My daughter was born on 6/16 at 24 weeks in NYC. Seems that in NY there are many benefits for preemies regardless of income level. I have been trying to navigate the NJ system and am almost ready to give up. My husband and I make a decent living and have good insurance, however 10% of 5 months of medical bills (including 4 surgery's) is alot. In NY early intervention is free for all children and in NJ it is a shared costs. Wondering if any mom's out there have any advice? At this point wondering if it is better to move to NY for the long run.

Hello from Ocean County
Hi Everyone! My name is Valerie and I am the proud mommy of 2 preemies. Andrew was born at 36 weeks and weighed 5 lbs. 12 oz. He was our first and we thought he was tiny until Jaden was born three years later at 31 weeks weighing only 1 lbs. 14 oz. He was IUGR due to a blood clotting disorder I developed while pregnant with him. He spent 45 days at the Morristown Memorial Hospital NICU which I do not have to tell all of you was an extremely stressful time. Both of my boys are proof of the miracles God bestowes on us each and every day. Andrew just started kindergarten a few weeks ago and Jaden is a healthy beautiful crazy little 2 year old. If there are any other preemie mommies in Ocean County (I live in Toms River), I'd love to chat and maybe even get together.

Hi I need help - pediatrician
I have been reading postings on this website since my son was born at 26 weeks due to preeclampsia on Feb 19 2006. He is in NICU and he will be there atleast until end of May. His name is Anup.
Right now we are going through the ups and downs of NICU. I hope and pray everything goes well for my son.
I need help in deciding a pediatrician for my son. I live in East brunswick, New Jersey and my son is in Saint Peters University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Can anybody please suggest a good peditrician who is in this area?
Thank you
Aruna.

Re: NEW PARENT, 24 WEEKER - WOULD LIKE TO BE IN LOCAL CHAPTER
Where about in New Jersey do you live? I live in PA but very close to the NJ border. My parents have a house along the Jersey shore.
Good Luck with your son. The NICU stay is a trying experience.

Hospital billing
Your health insurance plan may have special requirements, such as a second surgical opinion, prior authorization or limitation on where care is provided. Trista Joy Lathern is not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, nor the brightest bulb in the box. She also won't be passing go or collecting $200 – and is going to jail! Trista Joy Lathern was arrested on suspicion of defrauding charities – and the reasons why are at least sort of romantic, but not intelligent. She and her husband had been having problems, so she told him she had breast cancer, faked hospital bills, shaved her head, and raised funds to pay for medical bills and – the kicker – a breast augmentation. Authorities caught on to Trista Joy Lathern, and after her arrest for defrauding charities with money to lend – her husband filed divorce papers – surprise, surprise.
