Proud mama to Daisy and Caleb

Near Madison

We're in a small town about 50 minutes from Madison called Mineral Point - population 2617.

I love Illinois, especially the Chicago area! We make several trips down each year for baseball games, comic book conventions (yes, we're dorks ) and just to spend the weekend downtown. Are you near Chicago?

Hugs to you and your little ones!
Sam

    Milwaukee

    Hi ladies,
Just noticed your postings...I am in the Milwaukee area...unfortunately my husband and I lost our little guy. He was born at 23 weeks, 5 days...he passed away two days later due to complications. It's been almost 4 months since we lost him. I am just looking for other people who have been through a similar experience. Also looking for support during my next pregnancy. I am so nervous that the same thing will happen again. Good to hear a couple of success stories. I miss my little baby more than anything...but I am glad to hear not every premature birth ends in tragedy.

    Racine here.

Well, I jsut found this site while tooling around the internet at school (I'm a student at MATC).

I know of other parents in the area who had preemies, but they were only 3-4 weeks early and needed a week stay in peds at the most. My little guy stayed in the NICU at St. Mary's in Milwaukee for 54 days, came home for 28 hours, and went back for another 15 days due to an infection.

Samm finally came home on Dec. 19th, he was due next Jan 1st, and was already over 2 months old! Of course, he was a little over 4 lbs at the time (born at 28 weeks, and 2 lbs).

March of Dimes Family Teams Liaison

    Hi,
I just wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Jodi and I work for the March of Dimes. I am an Event Coordinator and a Family Teams Liaison for the Capital Division of Wisconsin.
I have met some of you already, like Sarah!
I'm proud to say that our family team support base grew like crazy in the last year. We are now forming a statewide committee for family teams!
WalkAmerica is right around the corner and there is a lot of work to get done, so I better get back at it!
I look forward to meeting and communicating with everyone!
    Warm Wishes,
    Jodi

    Hello from Milwaukee

Hello everyone, My name is Suzie I live in the Milwaukee area. We lost our baby girl last year 4/9/05 at 37.5 weeks gestation. I developed Cholestasis of pregnancy at 35 weeks. I was to be induced on Saturday and Abigail died on the Thursday before. I am currently 27 weeks and so far no cholestasis. But then again it doesn't usually show up until the 3rd trimester. I have found an awesome doctor though, so I feel really confident that everything will be alright. He plans on delivering me at either 35 or 36 weeks. Just thought I would introduce myself to everyone.

    Hello In Delavan, WI

    Hi-
We are from Delavan WI about 45 min either way to Milwaukee or Madison. Our 31 weekers name is Danielle. She is now 8 mon(adjusted). She was born 12-2-2005 at St. Joseph's in Milwaukee with a few complications and came home(almost didnt due to her IVH, which was a grade 3 borderline 4) on a monitor for six months. She is developing great, and we were very greatful to have a wonderful support system to help us get through our tough times. Now I want to offer my support back to other families who are going through the same thing. The NICU can be a rough place. Those times there are like a roller coaster.
I wanted to say HI and send my best wishes to others and let everyone know that I am here to help. I would love to do a local event for Prematurity Awareness in Nov. Any moms out there that wanna plan something should lemme know..
Hugs to all, and you can check out my family here:

Hope to Meet some of you
