wanting another baby after two prem babies
hi,
im 34 years old my first son was born at 31 weeks 4lb... due to my first son being early having finding out i was pregnant with my second child the doctors kept a close eye on me, visits to the hospital every 2 weeks, at 4 months i had started funneling so an emergency stitch was put on my cervix, i carried him until i was 26 weeks birth, he was born weighting 2lb 5 oz and is my little miracle.. after 3 long months in special care we finally bought him home and he is now a heathy 4 year old..
me and my partner are wanting another child but realize how hard it is going to be and i am really scared, family and friends say i am crazy after what we went through but i sooooo want another baby... i am just wanting to hear some postive similar stories and am i crazy for wanting another baby when i have 2 beautiful heathy children.

Your story sounds just like mine. I had 2 preemies, my first son 31 weeker, now 9, my second 26 weeker, an angel. My husband and I wanted another baby, even my family tought we were crazy, but I just wanted a baby in my arms. With your history, like mine, you really have to keep in mind that a preemie is high odds in your case. And no matter how much we take care it can happen again, so you have to get ready to afront all the things coming, including the posibility of bed rest, NICU time. I had my 3er baby, 28 weeker, now 2 years old. If you are expecting to have a full term baby, a dream for many of us, keep in mind that your odds are high, and after considering all these and if it is your desire for another baby, go ahead. Remember also that each passing year also affect the outcoming. I planned and planned for my last pregancy, and from my experience what I learnt is that nothing is sure, but it is your and your partner decision, and also keep in mind your little ones.
