Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05)

It seems as though I can't keep up in the cafe or here these days. I am so busy at work and quite frankly a bit down in the dumps. I should visit both b/c they are always a source of strenght for me but lately just feel weighed down. Work is busy, lots of lookers at the house but no offers, haven't made a plan to move (and I love a plan), my MIL comes next week to "help", I am writing a grant, I don't feel great physically but not terrible and Abigail is doing well in school with all of the "mental" parts but writing continues to be a struggle and now her best friend is switching schools (so it is going to be a long summer). There I got it all out. Sorry to whine. I feel a bit better now.

Jackie- I am sorry that Matthew is so tough to deal with these days. I can't begin to offer advice b/c I know you have tried everything but just to say that we are here. I have learned to never say never. Like that will never be me with the screaming child. I did that with my sisters and most of it has come back to haunt me. Abigail is actually well-behaved but I swore to never send her to the preschool we did, I swore to not put her in a million activites etc. Definitely not judge people just be sympathetic to their plight. You never know what their day was like at home, at work etc.

Maria- I hope we see Jonathan in about 10 weeks.

Tracy- Are you done at work at the end of the week?
Anyone have fun 3-day weekend plans?
I know today is going to be a better day.

Maria Guzman - May 27, 2011 2:36 am (#100 Total: 293)

Mommy to Chris (38.4 weeks) now 5! and ^Luis Fernando^ (22 weeks) and Johnathan (36 weeks)

I know! Time is flying by so fast, I love it!

Jackie- I don't mean to be judgemental, its just that sometimes I really don't like kids crying. I guess Ive been like that with Chris since he was born. For a long time I over-protected him after loosing out boy so everytime he cried I did whatever I could to calm him. I have seen mothers having to drag their kids out of stores too, rather than feeing bad for the kid, sometimes I do feel bad for the mother. I know how hard it is to have a "bad day" and not want to deal with anything, including your own kid. I've had so many of those days lately, but you just have to the best way you can. Chris will throw tantrums with my mom often, she says she just ignores him and he gets over it quickly. I'm also very opposed to spanking. I have a friend that spanks her kids even in public, I talked to her recently and told her I did not think it was the right way and she said her mother spanked her with the cable, etc. Her kids are small their 4 and 2. I think the naughty chair, time out, taking away toys, turning off the TV has worked better for us.... Ok, I'm getting way off subject, just hope you don't think I'm judgemental.

I've been feeling crappy since yesterday, my wisdom tooth has started to bother me. I was up till 6am and then had an appointment so we had to pick up Chris from school, I felt sooo crappy! Hopefully, I can sleep better tonight.

4-34 weekers and 26 week twins

HI All,
It's been pretty hectic here! We have had beautiful weather, but muggy, so that has brought forth the annual wheeze fest. We are enjoying the sun though! I just thought I'd let everyone know that our twins are 2 of this years "miracle children" for the Children's Miracle Network at our local hospital.. Here's the link to the article that will be on our local news tomorrow...

Sarah~ I hear ya on the muggy-ness!!!! The humidity is tough here as well. Congrats on being chosen as "miracle children"!! That's awesome!! Thanks for sharing the link too...they're such cuties.

Maria~ How's Jonathan doing?? Chris?? YOU???

Tonight starts VBS for Ansley, tomorrow starts swimming lessons (that aren't really needed.... ) and I have tons of homework for my own classes to get done. Busy, busy, busy!!!

Mommy to Chris (38.4 weeks) now 5! and ^Luis Fernando^ (22 weeks) and Johnathan (36 weeks)

Tracy- We're doing really good, thank you. Johnathan is kicking non-stop, I'll be 29 weeks on Tuesday. Chris is doing good also, he's been keeping me busy now that he's out of school. Next week we'll start taking him to summer activites or else we're all gonna go crazy. How are you doing?

We've been pretty busy, started baby shopping, I'm soooo excited. We're doing a jungle theme for Johnathan. Christopher's was Winnie the Pooh. I can't believe he'll be here soon. We went to the lake yesterday, I got a bad sunburn as well as hubby and Chris. We had a blast though. I have to show off my bikini pic. I was so shy at first but then everybody kept looking at my belly and asking me how far along I was, what I was having. I liked the attention, lol.

Hope you all are doing well and keeping cool, its crazy hot here in GA.

Maria~ Love it!!! I'm glad that ya'll are all doing well!! Ansley's keeping me busy as well...... I'll bet Chris will really enjoy summer activities and it'll give you a little time to rest while he's gone!

Take care of yourself in this heat!! Thankfully this week hasn't been quite so humid thus far, but I'm sure it'll be back soon enough!

Girls----I am seriously bummed that there aren't updates on those kiddos!!!

Des, Kathryn, Jenn, Maria~ How is everyone??????

Mom to a 25 weeker who is now 8 years old and a 38.5 weeker who is now 6

Want an update on my kiddos? The one my father has nicknamed "Typhoid Matt" had gotten me sick.
Kimmie gets sick and she usually keeps it to herself. Matt, on the other hand, seems to pass his germs like crazy! Not sure if it's b/c he sucks his thumb and touches everything, or just because he's in my face all the time. But ugh! I just got up and I'm actually heading back to bed! Thank goodness for the kids being at Grandma's!

    Arnara - Jun 16, 2011 3:00 pm (#111 Total: 293)

Oh poor Jackie, didn't know you were sick..... hope you feel better soon..... don't complain that kid loves you like crazy, I love when they kiss me like that and I have to literally take them off me.... I just think what a lucky girl S girlfriend will be.....

Maria: you look great! Glad you are enjoying the summer..... we have been just having rainy days (not my favorite ones)......And so happy for you wow already 29 weeks!

Hi ladies, I'm with Tracy where have yall been? Lol.

Thank you all for the compliments, I loved rocking my belly, even though I got sunburned bad. I hope we go back to the lake soon, its so relaxing. I'm now 30 weeks preggo. I can't believe its gone by so fast. I had my 3d ultrasound on Tuesday, I'm gonna share a pic. He has Chris' nose and lips, and he reminds me so much of Luis.

Chris is always all over us too, I love it though. He's been really well lately. Yesterday he asked when we were going to get Johnathan here, it was so cute. I assumed since we're always talking about his little brother he must like but where is he?

Jackie~ Sorry that the yucks have invaded your body! Tell Matt to keep his germies to himself!! (Or at least pass them to his dad for Father's Day)

Anyone have great plans for Father's Day???

    Angel Love - Jun 22, 2011 4:59 pm (#114 Total: 293)

    Okay---Mommy panic moment.....

Ansley wants to have a couple of friends over to spend the night for her birthday.....how do I tolerate 4 excited girls all night long???

I'm so unfriendly when I don't get sleep......

I'm planning to take them swimming for a while so hopefully that will tire them out, but what then???

Sleeping pills carefully ground into the cake.... No, obviously, I'm kidding! Maybe sleeping pills for you...

Speaking of swimming, Matt passed his swim test at our gym yesterday! I was so excited and surprised. I didn't think he was near ready (You have to swim the length of the lap pool without grabbing the wall or touching the ground). He must have spent 20 minutes celebrating and yelling "Yes!" because now it means he can go down the waterslide. Great day for the little guy!

    Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05)

Congrats to Matthew. That is so exciting. I don't think Abigail would make it. She is at swim lessons at another pool and there was some "test" they could take yesterday but she seemed scared (her friends took it) and she said she thought you should ask your parents if you could take it. She seemed disappointed when I said yes.

    Angel Love - Jun 23, 2011 2:11 pm (#117 Total: 293)

Jackie~ WOOHOO for Matthew!!! That's awesome!!! Bless his heart....that's something to be excited about!

Love the idea of the sleeping pills, but don't think that'll work for either group. I don't wake up from meds too well, and the last thing I need is 4 girls running free througout my house making up their own rules.

Ellen~ I hope that Abigail will be able to do her test without fear and can celebrate too. She'll do it when she's ready....she sounds like Ansley, nervous until she's ready.

Plans for an afternoon at the pool today, and wouldn't you know, it's raining???! Hopefully it'll pass us this morning and leave the afternoon to play, but this is so rare lately that I can't complain!

Hello All! I have been MIA and miss you all! Things have been going on here. I am going through a terrible divorce. Nothig that I ever expected. But I am happy and I am a better mother. Things are hard but we are making it on our own!

It is nice to read about all of you! Missed you all!

Mommy to Chris (38.4 weeks) now 5! and ^Luis Fernando^ (22 weeks) and Johnathan (36 weeks)

Hey everyone! I've also been MIA, recovery has been hard this time from the c-section and to top it off my emotions have been so out of control like last time I gave birth. I am very happy to have my two boys, even though I wish I had 3. Even though I have learned to live with the way life is and have accepted that we have an angel, I can even talk about him without crying now and I'm very happy I'm at this point. I had my two week appointment yesterday and had the courage to talk to my doctor about what I've been going through. She said its perfectly normal and said that so many mothers have the "baby blues" but so many don't speak up and its harder to deal with that alone. I have spoken up and hubby has been so understanding. I am slowly getting there and adjusting to my new duties here at home, I had forgotten how to take care of a baby and Johnathan is being such a sweet calm boy.

Kathryn- I'm sorry you having such a hard time with the divorce. I can imagine its even harder when you have kids. Stay strong for you and your kids. Hugs to you.

    Maria congratulations!!!!!!

I hae been alone all weekend. For the first time in months I have had free time. And I get the stomach bug. So all I have done is lay around. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Marina is doing cheerleading. She wanted to do it. It is so funny to watch. They have football for the boys so they start the girls cheerleading. Her PT thinks its great. I will have to take some pictures.

They are really serious pratice 3 times a week and it is for 2 hours. I could not handle it.

    Angel Love - Aug 15, 2011 12:43 am (#126 Total: 293)

Maria~ I'm glad that you understand how important it is to let others know how you're feeling. I'm also glad that your hubby is being understanding...that's always a plus!

Kathryn~ Yes--you must take pics of your cheerleader!!

I've been so wiped out since school started! Seriously, who knew a 4 day week could be more tiresome than a 5 day week??!

I know so many of you are just beginning a journey with your premie so I wanted to share this with you. My little Ally was born at 32 weeks, weighed three pounds and was 17 inches long. Like many of you, we went through ups and down over the month that she was in the NICU. It seemed as though she would never catch up. However, let me tell you she did! She is now seven years old, weighs 63 pounds and is a whopping 4 foot 8 inches tall. She had her first fall coach pitch game tonight. She was nervous because she had never played coach pitch before, let alone with a team full of boys whom had played before (they don't offer girls softball in the fall where we live). But, let me tell you she never once showed that she probably could have peed down her let at any moment. Three at bats with a hit each time and one even made it to the outfield. She was one proud little girl! She played just as well as any of the boys there.
They may start life off tiny and earlier than most, but never underestimate what they are capable of achieving with a little time.

Wow that is impressive you must be so proud! Good for her!

So the little cheerleader had her first game canceled yesterday. We got the hurricane. She was not upset at all. She has decided not that she does not want to do it. It really is a lot but I think now that we have started it we should finish it. I do not know what to do. I have been between travel contracts so I have been able to go to most of the practices. But I am going to be working again soon so it is going to be really hard on the Nanny.

It is so good for her to get the excersise and socialization. I am not sure what to do. Plus I already bought her the shoes and the bag and the bloomers and the hoodie. We had to spend a ton of money. So I think she should continue but I have to fight her to go.
