Had my baby girl two month early

jocelynishmell - 12:15am Oct 30, 2011 EST

My second baby was a premature baby. The morning of my labor, I was getting myself prepared to go to my doctor appointment. But to my surprise, I had blood on the toliet tissue. So my husband and I called the ambulance and went to the hospital. My contractions were still mild, but they were at least five to ten minutes apart. Once I got to the hospital I continued to have contractions and when the doctor came in to check me, I was ten centimeters diliated. The baby was feet first and I had to have an emergency C-Section. At 10:40 am, my baby girl Jada Ishmell was born. She was 3lbs 2.3oz and 15 inches long. She was very healthy at birth, and breathing on her own. She did have a breathing tube in her nose for about three days, but when mommy was discharged on Thursday, October 20, 2011, I noticed the IV wasn't attached to her. My baby girl also had jaundice, and for a few days she was under a blue light, and now she isn't and she also had to undergo a blood transfusion. My little girl is still in the hospital, but after her blood transfusion she is now picking up weight in her ounces. She weighs now 3lbs and 5.2 oz, and mommy baby girl should be coming home soon.

Heartbroken

I hope that Jada's stay is brief and she is able to keep gaining weight and come home soon. There are lots of moms here who know the challenges of a NICU stay. Looking forward to hearing updates on your little fighter.
