Bowel Movements

Katie87 - 03:01pm Dec 25, 2011 EST

Hello All

While in the NICU for a while my daughter needed glycerin to help her use the bathroom. Then I would say the last week or so she began going on her own. Now that we are home we are going on 48 hours without a bowel movement. She has lot's of gas and at least is getting that out but I feel like she needs a good poop. I have tried bicycle legs; tummy massage ( Although I'm probably not doing that right) I also cut a tiny sliver perhaps too small of a child's suppository last night and still no results. Is it really safe to do the rectal stimulation with a thermometor? I have vaseline and I read where you just stick the tip of it in. I know they did the thermometor probe stimulation on her a couple of times in the NICU as well. Anyway I've decided to give her until her next feeding and then I may try some more stimulation. Any advice is great. I'm wondering why she won't go for me here at home?? She is on formula and has two hernias so those are both setbacks I know but she was doing well in the nicu??

I love my kids!

YaY for poop!!

Write it down! So much going through your mind...write it down, take it to your pediatrition. There is so much you may forget.

I wrote it all down, so I didn't forget anything.
